I purchased this to replace my onkyo 806 that failed on me. I was looking for a $600-800 receiver that had a min of 2 optical ports still. This was due to my xbox was an early model with no hdmi port and to port out my Samsung tv. Because the receiver has an ARC port the second optical is now moot. For receivers on my price range only the yamaha and onkyo had all the ports I was looking for. Upon reading reviews of the new onkyo systems, a lot of people talked about problems with the hdmi boards recently. I did not too deal with having to possibly return or repair a new piece of equipment. I did not see many reviews of this model, but previous models got good reviews. I am enjoying the receiver and it does what it needs to. After turning on my ps3 it recognized the 3d capabilities and set it up. I have not tried the 3d yet, but will shortly.
Iam happy with the purchase, one annoying thing is after I turn on my system, tv and receiver the receiver switched inputs to the arc setting after~10 sec. I don't know if this is the Samsung or Yamaha problem. I just have to switch the input back. Just annoying is all.

This was very easy to setup, all of the right connections. My old speakers never sounded so great. Plenty of room for expansion. TV sounds much better.

Bought this receiver to replace an older model and after all of the searches I did on what was the best receiver for the money I came across this one. I don't jump on it right away I still did alittle more research about this model and others but none of them were giving what this does. This blows away my older yamaha. So many more features and being able to stream my music from an iphone or computer makes it worth the purchase alone. Easy set up and had it working minutes after it was all hooked up. If I needed another receiver if get this one again. Very happy.

AWESOME SOUND - RX-V675

RX-V675 This the best sounding receiver I have ever had, and I may have had ten over the years. The set-up was super easy and the remote control app great , once connected to the network. Not so great: i could not get the network adapter (YWA-10) to work using the instructions provided. However, at Yamaha Support I found a one page document that did work. Also, using this document be aware that the "Pre-Shared Key" is your network password, and be sure to remove the asterisk from the line you put the password on. After that, all smooth sailing. I LOVE IT!

I use this for home theater and listening to music. I love being able to use my iphone control app. My wife can be watching surround sound in the main room and I can control Pandora, SiriusXM or whatever out back by the pool at the same time! I was bouncing back and forth between Denon, Onkyo, Pioneer, Marantz and Sony and settled on the Yamaha for reputation of sound quality. Wish it had Power outlets on back like my old Onkyo but not a huge deal. Remote is lacking, but I bought a Harmony 650 along with it so no issues there. Overall I feel this was a great purchase and was on sale when I bought it.

We love the sound that the receiver produces, Enough power for 7 speakers and 2 sub-woofers in a large room. However, the remote is difficult to see and interpret. We have had 2 other receivers previously and had no trouble with them.
Support was very helpful and we are off and running with our system.
Enjoying the results.

I considered buying Onkyo but so many reviews said their unit ran really HOT, plus many were defective out of the box (failed HDMI boards, etc). So that took me to Yamaha. The model I bought was the RX-V675 which has all the features I wanted and some I'll never use. The Yamaha reviews had none of the defective unit issues the Onkyo reviews had.
After setting it up, I pulled the subwoofer cable out of the unit, and the RCA's center pin broke off and remained in the unit. The cable was one I bought in a pinch at a 99 cent store for testing, so I don't blame Yamaha at all, the cord was cheep. This was 34 days after the purchase, yet the manager at Best Buy said to bring it back and he would replace the AV unit, which he did. I salute you, Best Buy!
The unit is all set up now and works and sounds great, with plenty of power to spare. I bought the speakers at Bust Buy also, and left the system playing all day for several days while I was at work, to brake in the speakers, (two towers bi-amped, plus the surround speakers). Each evening when I got home I felt the AV unit, and it was only slightly warm, which pleased me since heat is what brakes down circuit boards and other component parts, and in time shortens its overall life. The remote works well, and it is easy to set up and program. Very pleased with both the system and Best Buy... no complaints. Oh, and the sales pro (Daryl, at Los Feliz store, Glendale, CA.) who worked with me on the initial system purchase was extremely gracious and knowledgeable. Thumbs up!

This is an amazing receiver. The geek squad set RCA cables for my iPod, however it works best through USB on front. I am able to run my iPhone through the receiver with the remote and track plays on TV. I can go through playlists, songs, artists. The 2 zone capability means I can have both my surround sound on and my speakers throughout the house. And the absolute AMAZING thing is: they can both be playing something entirely different. It has a beautiful sound and is paired with Definitive Technology Prosub and speakers! An amazing sound! There is also an app that you can use to control it!!! What's not to like?!?

I LOVE THIS RECEIVER!! It runs smooth, sounds great with my Bose speakers and so far is fairly easy to use. The Yamaha app is cool but I haven't had a lot of time to play with that part yet. All I do know is this is a receiver I would buy again if I needed to add another one to our home. It's Awesome!!

I am very impressed with this receiver. Not only did we get an AWESOME deal on it, but it is by far one of THE BEST reciever's on the market. It is very easy to set up. Easy to connect anything and everything to (we have our 63" tv, directv, ps3, wii, full surround sound, iPod, and computer connected), and interchanging the surround sound between devices is easy enough for my ten year old to do it. Highly recommended!

I bought this thinking that I was going to finally have the ultimate home theater system. When I got home I was incredibly excited to set it up with my two new speakers. Upon setting it up, I realized, and I could be wrong, that there was no EQ settings. By the time I had figured this out though, I didn't even care because I was so unimpressed with all of the other "features" from this receiver that I was already ready to bring it back to the store. There were a ton of useless connections on the back that I would never use, there weren't enough component cable connections, the component sources didn't have an easy way to have audio coming from them while showing the video....it was a nightmare. And there may be something I overlooked, but I'm pretty tech savvy, and this wasn't really easy at all to use. I bought a home theater in a box and set that up, and couldn't be happier. There may be absolutely nothing wrong with this, like I said, but this absolutely was not for me.

We bought this unit due to high ratings/reviews and we wanted a dual zone. Pretty easy set up and great sound and power. Only complaints are that zone 2 only uses analog inputs. 2nd zone spring clips are too small for #14 speaker wire. Also it advertises using iphone and ipod front however it is not compatible with new iphone 5s. Not sure if an update will correct that or not. Otherwise pretty easy to program/use.

I'm really happy with purchase. It has transformed my house from ordinary to extraordinary. I have connected it with the normal surround sound speakers plus 8 in ceiling speakers, 4 in main area for awesome surround sound to watch the big game, 2 in the patio for great tunes with a BBQ on a Sunday afternoon, and 2 more in master bedroom to relax and enjoy great times with the wife:)!!!!! It sound like a theater when we watch movies and it's really easy to use the remote to change the options for sound and video with zones 1 and 2. Only downfall is that it will not connect with my I phone.

The Yamaha replaced my previous Onkyo receiver which had a very annoying and difficult to diagnose intermittent issue. The Yamaha was easy to set up and worked perfectly right out of the box. All my other components work great through the new receiver. Intermittent issue is history! Sound quality is an unexpected plus...much better than the Onkyo.
Couldn't be more pleased!

Excellent product, meets to succeeds home theater system needs, but somewhat challenging to install. Best buy "geek squad" was not interested in providing assistance since I had unboxed and attempted installation myself, even when I was willing to pay a reasonable fee for assistance. Product excellent, support not so much so.
