I needed a small stereo/radio setup to replace my small JVC that was 20 years old. This Yamaha fit the bill with good sound, good AM/FMradio reception with antennas, blue tooth option, and equalizer options on the remote, Single CD player works well too. This system is sleek and easily fit on an upper book shelf. Owner's manual has clear and complete instructions.

Attractive design. Good sound. Easy to use. Just one problem - AM reception leaves much to be desired.

I’ve used the Yamaha MCR B020 CD/Radio Player for a couple of years now and think it’s a good value for the money. The sound quality is quite good, and the speakers have 4 inch drivers. Ports in the rear of the speakers enhance bass response and can produce all the bass response you’ll ever need. With the treble and mid settings all the way up and the bass settings a couple of clicks lower, the sound is a little bass-heavy but you can fine tune the sound to your liking. At higher volumes the bass response can be overpowering and muddy the sound to a degree. At normal volume levels the unit sounds good for CD’s and radio. You can listen with headphones if you want. I like that feature and the fact that the CD player will shut itself off a few minutes after the CD ends. There is a USB port on the unit so you can charge your cellphone too. The Yamaha MCR B020 CD/Radio is a good value for the money. Reading other peoples’ reviews brings up the issue of how durable this unit might be in the long run though. For the last couple of years the MCR B020 has worked great for me though!

It's a nice stereo, nice sound for a small area a room or small apartment...but if you'd like to play party tunes and crank it all the way... don't...otherwise it's a great little boom box to give to a teenager.

Bought this for my 12 year old daughter. It fits on a shelf of her bookcase! Sounds good, has a decent tuner and is easy to connect a phone via Bluetooth. It wont amaze you with the bass, but it definitely can fill the room.

This was a great purchase. It was so EASY to put together following the instructions. AM antenna easy to hook up as well as the FM antenna. Radio stations come in clear on both. The CD player works well. If you want a small stereo system, this is the one to buy. You can't go wrong with YAMAHA.

Great sound system. Only thing I do not like is that the speakers are not attached. It is actually a three piece unit with external wires connecting to speakers. Also the AM and FM antenna are old fashioned external wires connected to the back. I prefer them to be internal or attached

The sound is outstanding. The FM radio reception is very good. That it plays CDs & USB sticks is a bonus. Some of the settings -- auto off, etc -- were unexpected, but a dive into the User Guide solved those "problems."

I downsized from a house to a small apartment, and I had to get rid of my stereo system. I wanted to find a CD player and a radio. I did not realize how hard it was going to be to find this particular item until I found the perfect size at Best Buy. It is just right for me, and I know some may complain that it is not loud of enough, but that is not what this mini component purpose is for, and I couldn't be happier about my purchase!

Love the full sound and various options. Perfect. Exactly what I was looking for and couldn't find anywhere else!

I purchased this system based on the name Yamaha. I am not disappointed only surprised. It was so easy to set up and get started enjoying the sound that came from the two small speakers, I never expected the fantastic base but I guess technology has become so advanced that you don't need the massive systems that cost $1000.00 or more to get good sound. I am guessing that isome reviews are based on trying to compare a $200 system to a $1000 system and fall short on some facits but anyone that can't get total enjoyment from this little gem have their head in the clouds. It's hard to find a good compact shelf speaker with all the technical requirements. This is it.

The sound quality for playing music is better than I expected. I also use this stereo for watching Netflix and the music from the shows is louder than the speaking. But it still really sounds great. I just wouldn't normally listen so loudly since I live in an apartment with neighbors.

This unit is a nice small size but the sound it’s not great. I finally got around to setting it up from Christmas and the CD player does not work. And it past my return period. Yamaha customer service is hard to get in touch with. They don’t respond or you are on hold for 10 hours.

Failing after 4 months - makes loud clicking noise when it attempts to read discs and will not open sometimes when eject is pressed. Expected far more. Will be returning.

We bought this stereo for a kitchen counter. It takes up very little space, but has great sound. A great fit for the space.

Purchased this as a present for my parents, they love it, it's easy to setup and use.
