Okay, so when I first started hearing about the Yonanas, I though "who one earth can eat that many bananas?" After repeatedly seeing Pins, videos, and comments in my social media feeds, I gave in and took a second look. Turns out, that I can eat that many bananas. While the base of many recipes in the Yonanas is bananas, there are many others that don't use them. I have pushed frozen yogurt, pudding, peaches, blueberries, pineapples, even a few chunks of sugar free whipped topping, and many other low cal items through my machine. I've found that a few frozen peaches, a banana, and a couple of sugar free frozen pudding ice cubes makes a smooth and creamy (ice cream consistency) dessert that curbs my sweet tooth and ice cream addiction. It's a great gadget for anyone trying to watch their weight, have more control over food ingredients, or just eat a little more healthier, not that pudding is the best choice, but you get the jest. It makes the perfect base for thick and creamy smoothies, a quick snack, and activity to do in the kitchen with the kids...who by the way, are amazed at how a banana can not be a banana. Many desserts that I have made with bananas as my base, don't even taste like a banana. A frozen lemon in the mix tastes like a creamy lemon sorbet, no to very little banana flavor. There is a little clean up work, as with any small kitchen appliance, but nothing too labor intensive or time involved. Three weeks ago, at 43 years old, I had my tonsils removed, a horrible experience as an adult (I would have rather given birth to all of my children at the same time). My Yonanas kept me from going completely hungry. Because you can get really creative, it also kept me from getting tired of eating the same bland foods and was incredibly soothing on my inflamed throat. I got the same relief from ice cream, but would then be irritated by the "film" and buildup left behind by many dairy products. The Yonanas, doesn't leave the milk "film" so the relief in longer lived. It's so much fun! I would totally buy again! In fact I am sending my mother, who is a diabetic, one for her birthday. Of all her pre-diagnosis treats she misses ice cream the most, now she won't have to.

We've been surprised that creamed frozen bananas could be so good as a dessert. It does take about half a banana just to fill the cutting area but the machine comes apart easily for cleaning and you can then get that last bit of goodness out of the cutter. We've used the bananas as a base and then use other frozen fruit like berries, mangoes, strawberries, etc. to give it flavor beyond the base. It does have a consistency of a rich, soft serve ice cream. Needless to say, it makes a healthy dessert. No surprise that Dole's name is on the box since this machine consumes bananas like mad. We've doubled or even tripled our banana purchases. The bananas need to be ripened until they start spotting, then you peal and freeze them. Once ready, thaw for 10 minutes and run them through the Yonana maker along with other frozen fruit. That simple, that fast, really good.

We got this on a whim because we had 35 BB bucks and this was 45 bucks or so. We took it home, used it right away. Some people complain about the consistency if the bananas aren't completely frozen, just leave them in the freezer for 45 mins or longer and they should be fine. We added frozen fruit, chocolate chips, peanut butter...tastes awesome! The kids love it too. Now it is kind of noise, but what do you expect, its a blender really, just that it makes it into soft serve ice cream. After about 4 uses, there is a plastic piece in there that is wearing down visibly, I haven't contacted the company to ask about a replacement yet though. I would recommend this if you like bananas, ice cream, experimenting, healthy snacks and something to do with the kids. It's pretty fun, wish it was a little cheaper and more durable though.

I'm a huge ice cream lover, yet wanting to eat a pint or so at a time, isn't necessarily the healthiest. When first saw this first thing it reminded me of is Dole Whips in Disney and i love fruit bars. Used frozen pineapples (and threw a few mangoes in it too), and it tasted just like it! The texture was just like ice cream soft serve and reminded me of florida. Not to mention I can indulge and not feel guilty as its all fruit. Love this thing! only thing is sometimes cleaning it is a lil tough but easy enough. Recommend def!

I'd watched a demonstration of this at Costco, and while my daughters loved it, I was still skeptical that it would work or hold up. Food bloggers I follow professed to love it, but I was still on the fence. Seeing it on incredible sale on Black Friday, I took a chance, and after using it several times, I am glad to say it's everything as promised and more. The unit is well made, and it holds up to frozen fruit very well. Best of all, the desserts we've made have been every bit as good as the ones we sampled by pros, and we've already found ways to tweak them and make them better (hint: chop the fruit smaller than advised and alternate it). Highly recommended!

I read reviews on how much everyone loved eating yonana, and decided to try it out and yes I too now love eating yonana. It tastes delicious and is really easy and fast to clean. I also read how people ruined the motor by trying to make way too many servings in one session of making yonana, I could see this happening because it's a small machine so just avoid making that mistake and you'll be good to go.

I read lots of great reviews for Yonanas but was still skeptical. We were anxious to try it when we first got it and made the mistake of using bananas that were not completely frozen, that did not turn out well. Once we let them freeze solid first ,then thaw for about 10 minutes, the consistency was great. We've tried it with mangos and strawberries but the family favorite so far is the chocolate coffee recipe. I melted chocolate chips and poured in coffee, then froze it in an ice cube tray. Two cubes per banana is the perfect ratio.

I never would have bought this if there wasn't a big discount and if I hadn't read a very positive review on Gizmodo, but I'm so glad that I tried it out. I've never had a dessert quite like this before. It's almost a cross between a smoothie and banana custard, but more on the custard side. I've tried mixing in a bunch of different frozen fruits with the bananas, and they've been great. I was expecting this to be a novelty when I bought it, just something that I'd use a few times and then stuff into the back of a cabinet, but I've actually used it a lot. It's really easy to take it apart, so cleaning it is simple, but I recommend cleaning it immediately after using it because the banana residue gets very sticky if it sits in the sink for a while.

Ice cream without the guilt!!! The only downfall is it leaves a bit too much in the machine. However,it is a small price to pay for a healthy alternative, AND it tastes just as good as the real thing!!!

The Yonanas machine is really incredible. You put frozen bananas and frozen fruit in it, and out comes a creamy dessert that you would never expect. Kind of like an ice cream/smoothie type of dessert. The only drawback is that you need to disassemble it to get some of the product out when you are done, but it is really easy to do. Make sure to wash it after every use. We love this machine in our family.

What a great idea. So easy to assemble and use, and the parts are all dishwasher safe, so cleanup is no problem, either. Offers endless possibilities for making healthy frozen desserts. The only small drawback is that it's very loud. Not the most popular appliance for my cats, nor my four-month-old.

Sort of bought it as a gag gift but it's a pretty neat machine. All it really does is grind frozen fruit to a frozen pulp. Easy to clean and frozen banana pulp does taste good.

I purchased this item as a gift for the incredible price of $25. While I have not personally used this item, my mother loves it. Now that Christmas is here, I am heading (today in fact) to Best Buy and hoping to pick up a couple more if they are in stock. Despite the fact that it is gift giving season, I'm also going to snag one for myself. No more wasted bananas or apples that go bad because they don't get eaten. Just pop them in the freezer, then turn them into frozen yogurt with no hassle. I'll leave a longer review once I've tried it for myself. However, I can say that for the money, it's perfect gift for someone who is difficult to shop for.
