Purchased the Denon to replace an older SC series Pioneer Elite that is still running strong but lacks some of the latest features including eARC, bluetooth, etc. Used 80 / 20 for home theater and music. Received some great input from Brady and Burke at my local store before deciding the go forward with the x3800h. Overall very happy with the Denon, impressed with Audyssey room correction and notable improvement especially to surround sound. HEOS integration makes streaming high quality music a breeze. Faced a few quirks with HDMI control / CEC where the receiver and TV would get into a 15+ second confused input loop of sorts at times, which is I understand is not uncommon among many manufacturers and units, and fortunately was able to use eARC without CEC enabled so problem solved. Strong configurability, good app, and fantastic sound allow me to easily rate this an excellent unit.

Works great! Just getting into the audiophile scene and this receiver provides clean rich sound. We listen about 50/50 movies/t.v and listening to music. The air play works flawlessly even with lossless or Hifi music. Currently running 5.2.2 with room to add more subs and upgrade system or add sound to another room. Only negative is you have to purchase the Dirac separately for room sound correction.

So far, so good. I went through three RZ50’s in less than eight months before giving up on the brand and purchasing the x3800h. Night and day, folks! The front channel dialogue, surround sound immersion, and overall channel separation on the Denon is far superior to the Onkyo. The different menus and options were a bit confusing at first, but once dialed in everything has been great. I can finally kick back and enjoy my media without constant glitches and adjustments. Polk Sig Elite’s and a couple Emotiva BasX amps round out the 7.2.4. As a side note, I recommend spending the couple extra bucks on the Best Buy Members Plus program - it’s already saved me $300 on price matches/discounts. Thank you Best Buy and Denon!
