After extensive research on a new laptop (I am coming from a 2023 OLED 14-inch Legion 5 with Ryzen 7 7840HS and RTX 4060), I can confirm that this 16-inch laptop is an upgrade in virtually all aspects. The first noticeable improvement is the OLED screen, which has more brightness. I believe the difference is around 60 nits, and with HDR enable,d it is even brighter. On top of that, the screen is more dead pixel resistant (though time will tell) and has a very Macbook aesthetic which is more pleasant to see. It is 240hz, which paired with the 5070ti 12gb is an absolute wonder of a machine. I can run titles in ULTRA and HIGH settings and still get 140+ fps constantly. I use G-helper, but depending on the configuration such as if I use balanced or Turbo mode. I can get with Balanced (around 90-100 fps) but much less CPU temps, (around 75-77 C), in comparison, when I use the Turbo mode (I do get much more fan noise and the CPU is at around 81-83 C, but the FPS gain is of around 25-30 fps (so I highly recommend it) (I have not yet tried the ULTIMATE mode for performance but I suspect it will be another bump in fps, and again for higher CPU temps as well), especially for Story and single player games. For more competitive and online games, I would say Balanced mode is fine. I personally like a keyboard layout without a Numpad, and the key build and travel is amazing, especially in classes where I don't want to have noisy click I feel that they are on the less noisy side, but definitely good to not make ur peer unpleasant. Another great point I have is that the connectors are on the side and even while gaming, neither does the middle side in the keyboard or the right/left portions get hot (like they are not even hot), that is a huge advantage for me because I use USB dongles for my wireless mouse and keyboard, and with my previous laptop they did get hot because the connectors where closer to the CPU/GPU, with this layout problem solved. For the speakers, they are phenomenal like the best speakers on a Windows laptop ever. Very close to Macbook levels. The weight and thickness is very thin and light for a 16 inch laptop of these specs and characteristics, and paired with such a good battery life (I get around 7-9 hrs using the Microsoft office apps, R, Python, Power BI, and sometimes with youtube and my mouse dongle on, so for me it is a huge upgrade compared to the 4-5 hrs I was getting on my previous laptop. You also have much more fan management options and thermals as well (if u use G-helper), but overall 0 issues. I am absolutely happy with my purchase and more than satisfied with both its gaming performance, and use of apps while on battery power especially with R, Python and power BI. This machine has tons of power saving features and OLED care, so it gives you more futureproof aspects. I believe I finally have a laptop for the next 4-5 years that checks all boxes for me really. There might be some technical aspects you would want to consider if you are a multimedia/content creator, there may be a better value for money laptop, but for a Data analysis, CIS, programming, and both competitive and casual gamers. You will be happy with this. Hope this review helps :)

This laptop is seriously impressive. It’s incredibly fast and responsive, stays really quiet when you need it to, and can handle AAA games without breaking a sweat. I mostly use it for productivity work like AutoCAD, and it absolutely flies through everything I throw at it with zero hiccups. The screen is absolutely gorgeous, the build quality feels premium, and thermals are well managed even under heavier loads. It’s powerful when you need it, but also refined enough for everyday work and travel. Overall, it’s a perfect balance of performance, portability, and polish. Easily one of the best laptops I’ve ever owned. P.S If you decide to get it, make sure to download Ghelper.

Firstly I have purchased this Item open box, which shifted the value proposition much higher as it allowed me to get pretty much a 1k off the regular price, as such I will not comment on the price. On the outside the laptop feels very premium, I used to own an Gigabyte P15 gaming laptop, Dell XPS (2018), Razer Blade Advanced 2020, as well as daily drove an M1 Macbook air up until this and I have to say the build quality is amazing with sturdy construction and metal feel expected of the premium device. In terms of ports it is quite satisfactory (two usb-c, two usb-a, hdmi, sd card slot and headphone jack. I do wish it had an ethernet port as would make the device more versatile but with how thin it is I find it an acceptable trade off to the sleek looks. As for performance it is great, would be better with AMD processor due to its power efficiency but the intel processor is capable of both fast compilation of code as well as longer battery life, which is a great combination. If you are looking for desktop replacement though the HX series in other laptops will perform significantly better, however for a thin gaming laptop it is a capable cpu for on the go work. The soldered ram is bit disappointing but as it clocks at higher speeds it provides more beneficial when on the integrated gpu. Now the 5070 Ti version i feel is the sweet spot for price and performance as the gpu is power limited compared to thicker laptops and the higher end configurations with 5080 or 5090 will not show as much performance increase as the price jump is. Now the screen is a wonder to look at, as this is a first oled I have used and it pops with colors being amazing, while the fear of burn in prevails, I made sure to set a changing background and the taskbar to disappear when not needing it for extra screen space and to minimize long term burn in. Now where the pros and the nice benefit end is in the asus armory crate, this is the default asus tool that allow syou to switch profiles and chnage power settings on the computer, it is usable but it takes more of the system reasorces than needed, so I recommend getting app G-Helper, is is made specifically for ROG laptops, and it is lightweight and works well, even has additional tinkering settings so I recommend to use that instead. Furthermore I would recommend finding apps that remove alot of microsoft bloat like the copilot and some telemetry, as it frees up the resources and make the system bit more snappy, I do recommend though looking up totorials for this as they are quite present and easy to follow. That way you are getting as clean of the device without apps and software that just takes the power and battery away. I have encountered also a coilwhine, a sound high pitch sound when the game i am running is having high fps, this was when i tested Minecraft, but also can be present at lighter indie titles. It might be a device from device, so i cant speak if this is a wider issue but it is something to test. Same as with Desktop gpus this can happen, but if you wear headphones it is not noticeable. For the sound of the fans, they can be very quiet as the G-Helper silent profile makes laptop silent but at cost of performance, but even at turbo moad it is not something annoying, unlike my previous Razer or Gigabyte gaming laptop which was a thick one this one has more of a whoosh sound, for me at least more pleasant to the ears. Overall i feel this is a great device, it is definitely worht the premium proce it is given, I managed to get it under 2k, but even for the full or discounted prices that sometimes are here I feel if you want the closest to macbook in windows and do not like razers esthetics than this is it.
