A: I did extensive research on dishwashers, Bosch 500/800 and KitchenAid have the least amount of repair calls. But, all makes do get their fair amount. I went to Best Buy to get the Bosch 500, they were actually out of stock and it was on back order for 3 more months. I ended up getting the KitchenAid KDTE204KPS, this is the next down from pop open door. It was on sale for $854.99. Super quiet, and dries dishes very well. 3rd rack on top is shallow, just for flatware. Next one up does have deeper third rack. Very pleased with this dishwasher and would recommend to others to buy. I previously had a 46 dB Whirlpool. To answer your question, It was quiet too, but not a huge difference between the Whirlpool and new KitchenAid @ 39 dB.

I purchased this KitchenAid 24" Front Control Dishwasher back in November 2022, and it’s hands down one of the best appliance decisions I’ve ever made. From day one, it has delivered exceptional cleaning performance, and after two years of daily use, it still runs like brand new, average operation 1-2 per week. The ProWash Cycle automatically adjusts to the load and has never let me down — everything from delicate glassware to pots with baked-on food comes out spotless. The 3rd rack is a game changer; it gives so much extra room for utensils and smaller items, freeing up space on the lower racks. This was a must-have for me and it has definitely lived up to the hype. What truly stands out is the quiet operation. At just 39 dBA, it’s so silent that I often have to check the indicator light to confirm it’s even running. That’s been a huge plus in an open-concept home where kitchen noise usually travels. Compared to my old GE (no shade) which we could often hear in operation from our upstairs bedroom. The PrintShield stainless steel finish still looks fantastic, resisting fingerprints and smudges far better than my old dishwasher. It still looks brand new, which is impressive after nearly two years of regular use. Overall, this dishwasher has been a perfect mix of style, reliability, and performance. If you’re on the fence. When we had the repair tech from Geek Squad come out to look at the old machine, we asked his opinion on replacement items (repair wasn't worth the cost) and Kitchen Aid and Bosch were high on his list of recommended brands. I can confidently say it’s been worth every penny.

Love the look and style of this dishwasher. Very quiet when its running. Third rack is great as well. Dishes come out very clean. Functions well. Biggest disappointment was that it began to show signs of rust on the top of the dishwasher and the protective coating is peeling off on the bottom of the dishwasher when it was only 9 months old. I mentioned it to two friends that also have KitchenAid dishwashers and one of them showed me rust on their dishwasher that was a little over a year old, and the other friend showed me the coating peeling on their KitchenAid dishwasher as well. I live alone, I am OCD clean type person and can't stand a water stain, so I ensure any and all drops of water are dried up with a towel if they splash on this dishwasher when loading it. I can guarantee this is not due to the user and it's the quality of the product which no longer exists. I can say I'm really disappointed as I do love the look and style of this dishwasher and the how it functions. Unfortunately, with it rusting in under a year, it's only the matter of time before I have to replace it. I paid a premium for quality and a product I expected to last.

This dishwasher is the best we have ever owned. We love 3 drawers. The best part is that all of our old glasses and glass lids that had water stains on them are completely spotless and look brand new! Absolutely amazing! It’s so quiet you have to stay very still near it to hear it. We replaced our old kitchenaid dishwasher that we had from 2004! It finally broke after 19 years. Was a great dishwasher also so we will definitely stay with the kitchenaid brand. Cannot beat the lifetime value for the price.
