Product itself works great. BIOS is a bit different than I'm used to coming from a different manufacturer, but overall intuitive. Product packaging is very no frills, but well packaged.
The IO led doesn't have great diffusion, or color presentation. I didn't buy it for the RGB though.
Some desync from the on board RGB to the RGB headers, noticeable when using patterns that flash or change color.
I have had very little success getting ASUS AI Suite working. It works fine, up until the PC is restarted, after which it has an error on startup and doesn't work (fanxpert was my only real interest in the utility, Q-Fan works great from the BIOS)

Started out a great board. Easy install no problems there, tons of overclocking options. No problems installing cpu, mem,hd nothing all was smooth. About 1 1/2 weeks later all mobo rgb lights died. Installed avg software I have used for over 4 years to keep things running smooth keep hd's clean. After install of win 10 pro ran the avg software and it deleted a file that is detrimental for a asus board to work, thought I would just run system restore problem solved. So I thought. I kept getting blue screen of death errors and then the bsod boot loop. Been dealing with this forcaboutv2cweeks now. Did a fresh install and it does not do a low level format and CD erase everything just user files and downloads then it uses the old drivers from previous install so the issue is still there. So have to wait tell I'm home to use my win 10 USB drive to delete format and actually start fresh and should fix problem. All this because asus does not have one file set so it cant be deleted by a program that sees it as a ok file to get rid of. I think once I get it up and running it will be great I love the board lots of potential and tons of USB ports.

Asus hardware seems to cost the most, but I feel the cost is worth it. I got this one on a good deal, price matched with an online retailer. Thanks BestBuy for price matching.
I'm running a Ryzen 7 2700x with some Corsair Vengeance RGB 16gb, 3000 speed RAM. I have ZERO compatibility issues, RAM runs at XMP speeds with no issues.
I have 6 drives connected to this mobo, and have room for 2 more SATA devices and an m.2 slot if I want to use them. The BIOS options are very full-featured, plenty of overclocking options.
For those that care, the cpu runs at 4.35GHz when under light load. During high workloads, video encoding for example, it will run at 4.1GHz on all 8 cores on this motherboard. Voltages are very good at 1.225V and VRM temps are very good at ~50C. Of course temps are dependent on your case and airflow.
Overall, this motherboard does not hold my cpu back at all.

I paired this motherboard with the RYZEN 7 2700X. Yes, I know the Zen+ CPU's are designed for X470, however, they will work in X370 boards with upgraded BIOS. I am glad to say that the Crosshair VI Hero did ship with the updated BIOS to recognize the 2nd gen RYZEN CPU's. And talk about features. I don't know if ASUS could have put anything else on this board. The AURA Sync, SupremeFX audio, massive overclocking potential, it even has liquid nitrogen support. I couldn't justify the additional cost for the Crosshair VII hero with basically the same features for a 1-3% performance increase of the X470 chipset.
System Specs:
Mainboard: ASUS Crosshair VI Hero
CPU: RYZEN 7 2700X
Memory: 16GB (2x8GB) Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-3200
GPU: XFX Radeon RX580 GTS Black Edition 8GB
Storage: Samsung 970 Evo 250GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD
This system is ridiculously fast. My son uses it for gaming and graphic design. It renders insanely fast on AutoCAD and 3dStudio Max, I have yet to test it on Solidworks or V-Ray but given the speed at which it chewed through a render using all 16 threads, I can't imagine that much will slow it down. I highly recommend this board as it is very stable. We are running the system at all stock speeds using the included CPU air cooler. The CPU temp hasn't gone above 58C under full load that we have seen. Very stable voltages, no noticeable V_Droop at all. rock solid board and highly recommended.

This MOBO is very cool, and goes well with my RGB setup! My whole computer looks like a wonderful light show and I love it! I was able to overclock my memory (G.Skill Trident Z) to 3200, I have absolutely no issues with this MOBO at all. It is gorgeous and I love all of the options available on the board. The ONLY thing I wish it had was 2 M.2 slots instead of just the 1, but that's a very minor gripe! Also, my Ryzen 7 2700x ran right out of the gate with it.

This, like most Asus Mother boards, is a great mother board! It has eight SATA plugs to control any type and combination of drives you could want. The lights on the board are great even when the computer is off. They are fully controlled and can be turned off if you want. They just add something to show off. You can even add more lights to have a larger display, and if you add the right kind of lights they can also be controlled by the mother board too. You can also get the sister mother board that has y-fie build in .I go with Asus mother boards when ever I can. This is the 13th computer I have built for myself. It is a hobby of mine that I have enjoyed for most of my adult life that I now have to give up because of age and health. It is just getting to hard to see all the pins (plugs) and switches. Good building out there!

SO MANY USB PORTS I LOVE IT!!! Also I upgraded to 3rd gen ryzen (3700x). Plenty of Bios updates after 3 years. Very stable. This board has great VRM thermals. Hottest I’ve seen is around 60c full load, full power, worst case scenario. In terms of gaming, editing, VRM hover around 30-40c.

This board has a lot of USB ports, unlike the Crosshair VII x470. I went the x370 route for this reason alone. Turns out there's a ton of tweaking that can be done in the bios to OC my Processor and RAM properly. Running 4.3ghz never seen it about 62c.
