Bringing high end performance to a wider audience, Motion Foundation offers incredible immersion for all your favorite content. Motion Foundation speakers feature the incredible performance of the Gen2 FMT S, bringing much of the same performance found in our/their larger siblings, in a more compact and affordable package. This high-performance tweeter is paired with a custom Folded Motion Waveguide offering consistent, smooth, and controlled sound across the listening space delivering incredible performance in every seat while also reducing some of the harmful effects of room acoustics. Rounding out the sound are specially designed aluminum woofers for both the midrange and bass drivers offering robust and detailed performance across the board. Motion Foundation models are available in 3 elegant finishes to compliment any decor: Black, Satin White, and Walnut.

The Gen2 FMT S offers effortless performance, unmatched by conventional technologies. By folding thin film material, MartinLogan can pack more surface area into a small space providing incredible detail and clarity sure to bring your favorite content to life.
Folded Motion Waveguide
Enhances the Controlled Dispersion of the Gen2 Folded Motion Tweeter S, blanketing the listening area with incredible detail and precision. Avoids performance robbing room reflections and provides a more consistent sound across a wider seating area.
Controlled Dispersion
Room acoustics are vital, as everything in the listening room has an impact on speaker performance. MartinLogan minimizes these harmful effects by focusing the sound into the listening area, increasing flexibility, clarity, and placement options, regardless of the room’s design.
Aluminium Midrange and Bass Drivers
Using trickle down technology from MartinLogan’s own Motion XT and Motion Series, the Motion Foundation Series uses Aluminum cone woofers to maximize clarity, detail, and output.
McCracken-Vojtko Crossovers
The culmination of combining extensive anechoic, in-room measurements, and multiple blind listening tests with the low distortion philosophy of MartinLogan’s signature Vojtko Crossover. Through this process each speaker was refined to achieve peak performance.
Secure Lock Grilles
Stealth mounting tabs securely hold the grilles in place allowing the listener to customize the appearance of each speaker. Creating a unique look; leaving the grilles on, off, or even rotating them to change the grain of the fabric providing maximum aesthetic control.
Floor Bounce Compensation

Top to bottom, one of the most worthwhile purchases I've ever made. I think you'd be hard pressed to find a better combination of performance, build quality, and visual aesthetics at this price point. The bass is powerful, but the midrange is really where these shine in my opinion. I have them powered by a Cambridge CXA61 with a Wiim mini, Sony DVD player for CDs, Teac TN-3B turntable, and my tv for sources. So far, they're well-worth the investment and I expect to keep them for a long time.

Inaccurate but extremely pleasant sound
Do not buy these if you are looking for 100% accurate reproduction of a recorded sound. Do buy these if you like to listen to music or movies with crystal clear, sparkling, spacious high end, and warm powerful mid bass, and don’t mind applying some gentle eq and speaker placement techniques, and cranking up the volume in order to get there. These have a kind of small sweet spot in stereo field/ sound stage , but oh man is it sweet when you are in it. Best for medium / large rooms with few listeners/small seating area. They color the sound, but in a way I find very pleasant.

Excellent speakers
These have performed wonderfully. Once the break in period was over and i was finally able to turn it ip they have contjbued to impress. They have added so much to the sound in My living room and were worth the investment.
