- A: AnswerI spoke to in Microsoft ambassador over Twitter and they said that there was a first version of the elite 2 and there were many problems like the outstanding bumper problem that was in the elite 1 carried over to the elite 2. Microsoft pulled the product and are trying to now put the 2nd iteration in to production without telling any of the 1st iteration owners that there are huge defects with their controllers. My elite 2 that I bought in December broke in February. The Microsoft ambassador was not able to confirm if the issue that broke my controller was fixed in the new version. My right bumper broke.

- A: AnswerI just got my 8th controller today after ordering a few days ago. Lot number 2002 (meaning it was made in the 2nd week of this year, 2020). Without testing in game, I can say that the sticks were the best feeling sticks I've had so far. They had no play/wiggle whatsoever, which is a first for me after going through 8 of these. That being said, both the A and the Y buttons worked at most 50% of the time and the B button worked closer to 80-90% of the time when testing in the Xbox Accessories app and going through menus. Basically, as of the second week of January, they have still been coming from the factory faulty. Because I still have a GSP plan, I will be continuing to buy and return these controllers until I finally receive a functional Item. If one ever comes, I will let you know, especially if they actually send the new model (model FST-00008 as opposed to original model FST-00001) that I keep placing orders for that they continue fulfilling by sending older models.

- A: AnswerSimple answer is no. I am the OP of the question and ordered another one without an answer anyway. It came in a busted shipping box and belongs to lot number 2022 and model number FST-00001. it was broken on arrival, again with defective sticks and face buttons and this time also a defective RB. This is a joke at this point. Microsoft and Best Buy should both be ashamed of themselves for selling this product. There is a reason Best Buy's protection plan has gotten more and more expensive since launch; they know it is a bad product. Good luck if you ever order this junk.

Best Controller on the Market
Love this controller and will always stick with this brand. The customization is amazing and has top-tier performance. The weight, grips, and overall build are far superior to other brands. If you are thinking about buying it - do it! Have fun playing with the paddles and mapping them to whatever feels best for each game. It will feel weird at first but makes gaming so much more enjoyable and competitive. Highly recommend keeping all 4 paddles on for almost every game. Also, trigger locks are OP! BIG plus, I have not experienced any stick drift with any of these controllers. I have had 4 in total. Microsoft is a genius for The Xbox Accessories app, which allows you to make profiles for every game that you can easily switch to with a press of just one button. Only one con with this generation and the original Elite: The LB button and only the LB button eventually gives out. This happens usually within a year, but I also use it frequently. This seems to be common in all the forums I have read. Bring it back into Best Buy within a year and they will send it off to Microsoft to fix. Est. 2 week wait Highly recommend getting the Geek Squad Warranty if you decide to purchase for a faster turnaround.

Worth it..especially at the open box price.
Best Buy offered the best deal I could find for the Elite 2 controller. I appreciate its heavier and more durable feel compared to the regular controller. The attempt to fix the grip issue and the switch to USB-C are also positives. However, it would be even better with hall effect or a similar feature to prevent stick drift. It's worth noting that these controllers came out before hall effect joysticks became more common. Perhaps this is something they will consider for the Elite 3 design improvements.

AMAZING/MUST HAVE
This new iteration of the Elite controller is well... ELITE! It is one of the most comfortable controllers I’ve ever used and is better than any 3rd party pro controllers you can get! A tad pricey but well worth it! It has an internal rechargeable battery and the battery life lasts for days! Like binge playing all day... days! Must have for shooters too. Literally cannot play shooters anymore without paddles! Perfect compliment to a new Series X having 60-120fps!
