  • Questionis the Core™ i7-1255U processor. Better faster than the i5-13420

    Asked by geek.

    • Answer Thank you for your question comparing the two processors.. While the Intel Core i7-1255U processor has more cores and a 100Mhz faster clock speed, they are targeted toward different market segments. The processors that end in "U" are made for thin and light laptops and prioritize conserving the battery mainly for productivity and creativity. The Intel Core i5-13420H processor prioritizes performance, making it more suitable for performance-oriented or CPU-intensive applications like gaming or rendering.

  • QuestionI thought i'd be able to connect VGA to C adapter i used on another laptop to this one, and be able to use a monitor but it does not work. What doesn't this laptop transmit out to a monitor through the C port as others do? how do i use a monitor w/it?

    Asked by jpws.

    • Answer Unfortunately, there are a number of different uses for the USB C connector, but not necessarily all are implemented at the same time on the same connector (nor on the cables carrying them), even though the form factor may be identical. Why this is the case I cannot say. Perhaps they were developed at different times; maybe there are good technical reasons; maybe it's a matter of cost. Even on any particular model, you may find three different types of USB C ports: one has Power Deliver PD), another is data only, and a third will transmit video signals. So when you see "USB C" listed on the specs for any computer/cable, you have to independently check what both are capable of.

  • QuestionMy computer is not connecting to hp hub - does the usb c support displays meaning the port has a usb c and my other two monitors are connected to hp hub. Does the usb c support plugging into the hub.

    Asked by JarvisS.

    • Answer There are three factors governing how any specific hub works with any specific computer, namely, the abilities of the hub, computer, AND cables. All three have to be capable of any particular task for you to be able to perform that activity, so check your compatibility on all elements.

  • QuestionWhat is the CPU Base Clock Frequency of this model? It shows the Boost speed being 4.7 GHZ but not the base speed.

    Asked by dude.

    • Answer Greetings from the Intel team. Thank you for your question. According to the system specifications on the retailer's website, the HP 15-fd0107dx comes with the Intel® Core™ i7-1255U Processor, which has eight Efficient cores with a Base Frequency of 1.3 GHz and a Max Turbo Frequency of 3.5 GHz and two Performance cores with a Base Frequency of 1.8 GHz and a Max Turbo Frequency of 4.7 GHz. CPUs do not always need to run at their maximum frequency. Some programs depend more on memory to run smoothly, while others are CPU-intensive. Intel® Turbo Boost Technology is an energy-efficient solution to this imbalance: it lets the CPU run at its base clock speed when handling light workloads and at a higher clock speed for heavy workloads. For detailed information about the Intel® Core™ i7-1255U Processor, visit: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/sku/226259/intel-core-i71255u-processor-12m-cache-up-to-4-70-ghz/specifications.html Thank you for choosing Intel! • QuestionHow many USB ports does it have? How long is the battery life?

    Asked by skeptical.

    • Answer Battery life is always iffy, since it depends on specific circumstances. How many programs are open? What are you doing on your computer (streaming, downloading, editing video, typing a letter, etc.)? What is the brightness level set to? How old is the battery? What charge level are you starting with? How warm is the room (warmer means more fan activity)? And more. I once compared two MSI laptops on Best Buy and one was rated at one hour, the other at 41! I sincerely doubt there could be that much difference between two similar laptops by the same manufacturer. If you are really interested in this factor, search reviews for the model; there, the circumstances are given for any tests, and they are consistent between models.
