I ran into a problem with it when I tried putting the Dish receiver on the 4 port connector. The dish receiver is always transmitting a screen saver. I suspect that you're having a similar problem with whatever is on port 1, so it's always automatically switching back to port 1. I had to put the Dish receiver directly to the TV at HDMI 1, then used the TV's HDMI two for the 4 port connector, and hooked up the Reviever, Fire TV, and Apple TV to the 4 port connector.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had a similar problem. For me, the 4K FIre Stick would not work thru the switch (although an HD Roku stick would). That may be your problem, it may be not recognizing the Fire Stick and looks for another input. I had to install the Fire Stick into an TV HDMI port and move the previously installed DVR cable to the switch, which is not the way I would prefer. But I still have a problem with the switch automatically switching to a BD player when I want to go to a DVR. It usually takes switching back to the DVR 3 times before the switch will finally allow me to watch what I want. I think this switch is more frustrating than it is worth.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I think you have looped yourself back around. Port 1 should be your Fire Stick, and then the output should go into the TV.
