Take a HMDI cord and plug it into the output slot on the back of the Rocketfish unit and plug the other end into the HMDI port on your tv. Next take the cord for your dvd player and plug one end into the dvd player and the other end into any of the ports on the Rocketfish device. Learn from my mistake and make sure the cord going into your tv is going into the port marked "output." Next use your remote to switch to the port that you used. (It took me a little while to learn which device was hooked into which port.) Also, remember there is a lag time when you switch ports so wait a few seconds before your tv will show a connection to the dvd player. I hope this helps.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We have the same -make sure your tv is on 1080p then hdmi goes to goes to the unnumbered port of rocket fish and your accessories like cable box , dvd, Riki goes to the numbered port -will not work if the setting on your tv changed from 1080p to something else -ours did unknowingly and moons knew what was going on so they took it back and said it was tv-we found the error and it works great so far
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.the 4 ports on the back of the rocket, one is marked "output" make sure that goes to the TV. the DVD goes to one of the other inputs. make sure the rocket is turned on. it should switch to the correct port when you turn on the DVD. if not push the button on the top of the rocket till the light for that input is lit.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I'm not quite sure what it is you're asking here...rocketfish is Not an output it's just the HDMI cable. Unless your cable box has an HDMI in and an HDMI out you'll need to swap the HDMI cord between the cable box and the DVD player. I'm assuming your DVD (do you mean blu-ray?) player has an HDMI port. If cable box does have an In/out HDMI then take the HDMI to TV, HDMI to cable box in, the HDMI from the out to your DVD player. I'm not 100% that would display a picture though, but it's worth a shot. Other than that as I said leave the HDMI on the TV and just swap between the 2. Or you can buy an HDMI splitter to plug 2 different cords into the 1 going into your TV. Hope that helps!
