• A:Answer I had an option to buy it when I purchased my tv online. A 2yr warranty is what I purchased. It should be on your receipt or your purchase record

• A:Answer Hi Jon. Thanks for the question! In most cases, you can purchase a 2 or 5 year Geek Squad Protection plan with the TV. The price of the plan will go off the length of time and price of TV. Q: QuestionHi, does the Geek Squad Protection cover issues with TV backlight going out leaving a blank or black screen? How would this work with a 50"+ TV? I'm assuming I wouldn't have to load up the TV to take it back Bestbuy?

Q: QuestionDoes Geek squad dismount a tv from a tv wall mount bracket for repair or diagnostic? Or do I need to do that myself prior to their arrival?

• A:Answer I would definitely wait and have them dismount the tv. That way if anything happens to it in process of dismounting, it will be covered and if necessary replaced. They will definitely dismount anything they are working on.

• A:Answer Great question, and thank you for taking the time to ask us! Our Protection Plans run in parallel with the manufacturers warranty, and does start at the time of purchase. Should there be a manufacturing defect, some manufacturers allow Best Buy to fulfill their warranty. Normally speaking, the first year should double covered with most brands, so to speak, but any additional years outside of the manufacturers warranty would need to be covered by a Geek Squad Protection plan for assistance from Best Buy! I strongly suggest becomming a rewards member. Irs a no cost. Your purchases can be tracked and when you go into the account you can access all sorts of information about your purchase.
