You buy one of these and you use a coax cable to connect one of your house coax jacks to this, then you plug a cat 5 cable from this to your computer. Once you have your FIOS router plugged into your cable line, your whole house is essentially "live". Any coax ports in your house (that are connected that is) are now part of your MOCA (multimedia over coax) network.

The coax has only TWO WIRES; an external shield and an internal copper THIN WIRE. That's why network technicians call coax "thin wire network". An Ethernet cable has FOUR WIRES.
