Hey I think it does require over the fireplace. They told me no but when they came out the guy had a tantrum that it was not checked yes and left and never came back. I’m still trying to get a refund a month later. I would not use Geek Squad again.

We have an electric fireplace and had the tv mounted directly over the fireplace. I do not think you will need a special mount for your situation.

Yes, even over a gas fireplace, the 'mount over fireplace' option is required. We just had a TV mounted over our gas fireplace and they charged us the additional amount.

Mine was installed over a gas fireplace, a slong as there are 2x4 studs approx. 16" apart, that they can attach too there should not be an issue. I did not get charged an extra for over the fireplace.

I believe because this is simple enough it should not. Esp if you have an outlet and all the wiring ready. If not, then I would assume so. Call them and ask.

Yes, it still requires the mount over fireplace option. I too have a gas fireplace but had to choose that option.

Yes. You will need the ‘over the fireplace ‘ option. But well worth it. Make sure your mount is articulating and can turn or extend... makes a big difference.

I also have a gas fireplace. The Geek Squad mounted my T.V. mount to my dry wall.
