• Curved monitors are "stupid? You have to put your monitor so your eyes are at the parabola's focal point. The idea is that all of the surface is the same distance from your glasses or eyes. BTW, a monitor can't be stupid. But people can be.

• No, but the curve is not even noticeable when your sitting infront of it and makes it easier to see the corners on such a wide screen
