This was probably answered already, but yes, PS5 and Xbox will have black bars along the sides. It does take up the whole top to bottom but leaves about 2-3 inches on the left and right side.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes there's black bars for 16:9 content. It will eventually create burn in. If you want it for your PS5 I'd honestly wait for the 16:9 QD-OLED monitors in 2024. Alienware has a 32" 4K and 27" 1440p versions coming out.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have one and it depends what the native resolution of the PS5 output is exactly. This screen on the Alienware 34 Curved QD-OLED Gaming Monitor - AW3423DWF is: 3440 x 1440p
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, because this monitor is set up for a 21:9 ratio. It does not have native 16:9 or 16:10 support. It does take up about 80% of the screen, but in 1440P or console mode 4K, you get black bars on the left and right sides of the screen.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I haven’t seen any currently on mine, and it’s been about a month. But if any reason you have any issues or 2 thoughts, pretty sure Best Buy has a 14 day return no matter what is what I was told from one of the employees at my local store. Definitely do your research before purchase but I’m happy with it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. Consoles will only output 16:9, or the image will stretch to fill the screen. Either way you will not get proper use of 21:9 format from a console. That being said, black bars on either side with OLED is far less obtrusive when compared to standard LCD.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This monitor does not have any unusual display issues. In case you face any technical issues with this monitor, please reach out to the Dell technical support team after the purchase. They are available on Facebook and Twitter(@Dellcares).
