“1) Does the RockBox XL have speakers in front and back, and therefore play music in two directions? Or, only in the front, and play in one direction? 2) In general, how is the sound from all directions? Does it fill space well or are there dead spots?”

• the back is the bass muffler, this rockbox xl is pretty loud it fills a space well, I have the jbl boombox which is twice the price of the rockbox xl. let me tell you something the rockbox xl is not far behind the jbl boombox in sound quality, im glad I bought the rockbox xl and im keeping it.

• Speakers on front and back, sound is crisper on front, but at high volume levels no noticible distortion. Sounds really really good
