Hi There, You do not need to have an additional Echo device for this to work! If you do, you can tie it into your multi room music set up if you have one, you can also broadcast announcements to other Echo devices from it. This device is perfect for the hard to reach spots that you wish you could have Alexa. A hallway for example where there is no table. You can optionally add a night light or motion sensor on for added productivity. The bottom of this device also has a USB port to charge devices. Have a great day!!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.stand alone as long as you have wifi and the Alexa app
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It can be used as a stand alone item or in combination with any of the other Echo products. The speaker is not high quality but decent for most usage except if you want quality music playback. I have mine in my garage and can hear it anywhere in there even when cars are parked.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is a stand alone device. It does everything that an Echo or Echo Dot will do. Plus some extras. It's basically an Echo with a tiny speaker so it's not good for music unless you add an external speaker. It's excellent for listening to radio talk shows or using as command center for your lights, or grouping with other Echos.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It will work on its own. You can "drop in" on any other Amazon device to use it as an intercom. It is small and out of the way for use where counter space is a premium (garage, bathroom, etc.). As long as it is within range of your WiFi signal, you're good to go.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Flex provides the same interaction abilities as the Echo Dot. It has it's own microphone and speaker. The speaker is smaller than the Dot. I think it has fewer microphones. I don't speak very loud so having another device closer to where I am at the moment makes it so I am heard by the Echo device (dot, flex) more easily.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.WE have it connected with our Alexa. It can reach in our home from upstairs to down with no problem
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. All alexa devices works as stand alone products Once you have an account you just keep adding your devices and customize them the way you wanted to work It reaches about 20 ft distance . The advantage its the you can have this on areas where you only need voice control for smart devices no screen need it
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. As far as my experience goes I do believe it can be a stand alone unit without the Dot, Show or any of the other high end Echo products available. Also you can connect nicer and louder speakers to it via a 3.5mm jack and/or bluetooth. I also believe it can hear you for at least 25 feet also depending on other ambient noise levels. It does work with my Dot, and I'm pretty sure it connects with all Echo products. It's nice for setting up a home intercom system. All Echo products need to be connected to the Alexa app!
