QuestionIs this a stand alone product or do you have to have a alexia, or echo or dot.? Will it work with any of these three? What is the advantage to having one of theses ? How far can it reach?

- Answer Hi There, You do not need to have an additional Echo device for this to work! If you do, you can tie it into your multi room music set up if you have one, you can also broadcast announcements to other Echo devices from it. This device is perfect for the hard to reach spots that you wish you could have Alexa. A hallway for example where there is no table. You can optionally add a night light or motion sensor on for added productivity. The bottom of this device also has a USB port to charge devices. Have a great day!!

- Answer Yes, but the audio quality is not as good as other echo speakers. You can connect it to a better speaker if you want better sound.

QuestionIf you have 2 units 1 echo and this and request a radio play on this unit does the other unit automatically play the same request?

- Answer Normally, it's independent. However, if you create a GROUP let's say "upstairs" you can do it. Just say "play iheart radio on upstairs". Then the music plays simultaneously on all units in that group. Works great.

QuestionI have this device, recently was an electrical glitch and my WiFi went out as well as this device. I cannot figure out how to reconnect. The apartments installed in each apartment the router and connection in a panel I cannot access. How do I connect it?

- Answer My Echo connects to my home network and my two robot vacs (a Shark & a Samsung) connect to the same network and I can use the flex to start, stop & monitor the vacuums. I would imagine the lights should work the same way.

QuestionI use my Echo to communicate with a friend in a nursing home. It works great except when he is in one area of his room. He can hear me, but his voice is soft and I can’t hear him. If this paired with the echo would it help me hear him?

- Answer No, they do not pair together like that. Also, the speaker on this device is terrible, it’s sounds like an 80s clock radio.

QuestionDoes this have a temperature sensor in it like Ecobee or Nest? It would be a very big missed opportunity by Amazon if it does not! Oh btw, they also need Marketing help since this has the same name as a service Amazon provides...

- Answer I have a Sensi smart home thermostat that controls my furnace & A/C, and the Echo Flex communicates with it easily. I can change temperature, change modes (heat, cool, or off/on).
