• It comes already applied to the heat sink you just need to hook it up and you're ready to go.

• Hi Lackia, The cooler comes with the paste pre-applied. Just be careful not to set the fan/cooler down on the paste side before you are ready to install the fan, or it might get damaged on a hard surface. There is no film that needs to be removed, and the thermal paste will do a great job for many years with normal use and proper installation.
