Some batteries (actually most of them) can develop an internal short, especially as they age. They then will lose their charge and fail to start your car. If the short is bad enough it can prevent a jumpstart from being useful to start your car. The short simply lowers the available voltage and current to the point where it can't do it. If your car battery is 5+ years old and you are having consistent problems with it, get a new battery. Don't rely on jumps to keep it going!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Fyi, this is a Vehicle Jump Starter, not a Vehicle Battery Charger. It is used when your Battery is dead and will get you back on the road till you get somewhere to charge or replace the Battery.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There sould be a little battery indicator on the jump box. There really is no correct answer in my opinion, it just depends on how often you use it and how old it is.
