A:Answer Thats hard to say. As long as your child can follow directions, she/he should be alright under supervision. My 1 year old wants to pick it up and drive it around like other toy cars and my 3 year old can't focus on the task/directions given long enough to accomplish anything (needs more patience). My 6 year old is alright, but keeps trying to talk to the robot and it doesn't have a microphone to attempt to understand she is asking to play a game, or to do whatever she is telling (not asking) it to do.
Cozmo asks you to play via app and by the actions it takes/sounds it makes. It can also can identify you, and say your name. I think these, for lack of better words, behaviors, confuse the kids and make them think it can do more. If you can see me and talk, you must be able to hear me and understand me too.
All in all, its a good toy bought to keep my kids engaged into robotics and getting some exposure to the fun side of technology while starting to try to get them to use their brains and create their own ideas. You can do some programming from the app, and will attempt to expose that to my 6 year old at the end of first grade as they are already exposed to basic math and simular problems solving skills.
