As long as the internet connection is stable, 10Mb is more than enough to look good. Most 1080p content is like 3-8ish Mb for streaming (and all streaming services lower the bitrate and resolution if they need to). Most 4K streaming content needs like 11ish-15Mb, but again if it doesn’t get that it’ll just degrade to 1080p and still look great. (AppleTV+, Apple’s new streaming service is apparently the highest bitrate service, going as high as 60Mb/s apparently, but again works fine on much much less). I used to have a 6Mb service and streaming looked good/worked fine, and would be at 720p or 1080p. I’ve even streamed stuff at 1Mb/s, though that looked rough, worse than NTSC broadcasts, though even that wasn’t totally unusable.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.10Mbps is okay for 1080p content. If you plan on going 4K in the near future you will need at least 15Mbps for Amazon Video or 25Mbps for Netflix to stream in 4K.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It will work but the resolution will very depending on speed of internet.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can use this with 10 mpbs. However you would just be wasting your money unless you eventually plan on getting at least 24 mpbs. To stream 1080p quality you need to have 5-10 mpbs. to stream 4K you need to have at least 24 mpbs. So all the programs will automatically default back to 1080p if you only have 10 mpbs. In that case, save some money and buy the older generation 1080p Apple TV. And by the time you are able to get more than 10 mbps, it is also very possible that Apple has come out with even a newer Apple TV.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.10 mbps download speeds for any streaming device would introduce buffering or choppiness. I recommend increasing your internet speeds if you can (I know you said 10 mbps is the most you can get at the moment). A lot of factors play into whether or not it is sufficient such as ISP (throttling, sharing of bandwidth between internet and tv, # of devices connected to the internet, distance away from router, interference, etc.). The player is great overall and would work with your tv. It will play 1080P. When you upgrade to a 4K TV, you will most definitely need an upgrade to your internet speeds. Having 25-35 mbps will work for most people although I recommend at a minimum 40 mbps for a smooth quality. Streaming sports will look great after the upgrades, but it also depends upon your tv’s ability to handle motion. For your current tv, it depends upon how your tv handles motion and how high your download speeds will be. I recommend starting with upgrading your internet service either concurrently with your purchase or shortly afterwards. Without knowing your environment for the internet and your tv mode it is tough to say 100% the streaming will be flawless. When researching a new tv, I suggest consumer reports and heading into Best Buy to see them first hand and ask questions. I hope this helps!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It will be choppy. If you can only get 10mbps. It would be ideal to plug in your Ethernet cable.
