- Answer Yes, it will work with Time Warner Cable. I used this modem to replace the one from them and it works great and I'm saving 8 bucks a month in modem rental fees on my bill.

- Answer Absolutely. I use it on Comcast internet, connected to a wifi router, and it works great. In fact, it works far better than the rental modems from Comcast, and saves $$.

- Answer This modem is compatible with Comcast/Xfinity. I use Comcast and the modem works fine attaining very close to maximum speeds in a recent speed check. It is listed on Comcast's list of supported modems so you shouldn't have any problems using it with Comcast.

- Answer If you wish to connect multiple devices to this modem, then they will need to be hard-wired directly to the unit or networked through a separate router.

- Answer I don't have Blast, but on the compatibility list, it isn't listed, so I would say no. Here's the link the to the compatibility list, http://mydeviceinfo.comcast.net/. Select your speed tier and it will list all compatible modems.

- Answer The main question is, is your internet coming in from a cable? This device is used expressly for conversion of an internet signal coming in through a coaxial cable provider (usually Comcast or Time Warner), and converting it into a WAN signal piped out via a WAN port in the back. From there, you can connect it directly to a computer, or wireless router. This particular device will handle heavy traffic, but how much can your router handle?

- Answer Yes, Modems take the phone line or cable cox cable and convert it into the common internet cord rj-45 (the cord that gives you internet when you plug it into your computer) Routers, take internet cable from the modem and allow you to plugin multiple internet cords, also most routers you buy today usually include wi-fi

- Answer That depends on what you're trying to do. If you're only connecting a single computer and don't want / need wireless, then no. If you want to hook up several computers I would suggest getting something that will allow you to make the kind of connections you need. I have a Netgear Wireless N 3500 router which works great for my wired and wireless connections.

- Answer Some of your smaller electronic companies will carry these things. I saw one that the cable goes to and another cable goes out and was a flip switch in between. This was in Mesa, AZ Actually, I have mine on a power strip with the computer and just shut it off.

QuestionWhat router/modem is compared to the Arris TG862G/CTI am using the Arris TG862G/CT Router/Modem that I rent from Comcast. I am sick of paying the rental fee every month and was wondering what I can purchase that is close to this one at a reasonable price. I don't care if it is refurbished or the box has been opened as long as it does the job. I only (very ancient) computer with Windows XP that is linked to my cell phone. I only get cable and internet through Comcast because I don't have a house phone. What is the least expensive router/modem that I can purchase that will work with my services the best.

- Answer All you need is a basic cable modem. Doesn't matter what brand unless you plan on getting 100 gig or higher internet speed. I would recommend a Motorola router since Comcast use's them on there systems. If your going to get 100 gig or higher internet speed you'll need a modem that is a "3.0 Docsis " system. Hope this helps.

- Answer This modem will handle anything you throw at it. It connects from your computer or router with an ethernet cable and to your cable line on the other side with coax, usually provided by the cable company. There is not a separate input for your phone to connect like on the comcast combination router/phone/modem. This just does data, not phone.
