- Answer Arris makes great modem routers to replace the cable one. But get the correct one for the internet speeds that you are paying for. U dont want a 1gig router if you only pay for 300mb. U need the correct channel combo to get maximum performance

- Answer Many of the internet providers want you to use their equipment instead of your own because they make money off of renting their equipment. The installer came out to my house to help me. He had to call back to the service provider a couple of times until he got someone who was willing to add the Arris to my plan. Several of the people he called told him it was not compatible but he told me he knew it was so he just kept calling until he found someone. You might need to keep calling and get different service people on the line until you find someone that is willing to add the modem.

QuestionDo you get a separate 2.4 and 5 channels? I have smart plugs that only work with 2.4 and it needs that specific channel to connect.

- Answer The SBG8300 broadcasts separate Wi-Fi SSID over the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. The channel on the 2.4 GHz band is different than the 5 GHz channel. This allows your smart plugs to connect to the SSID on the 2.4 GHz band.

- Answer The main difference is speed capabilities. For docsys 3.0, it has download max of 1 Gbps, upload of 100 Mbps. For 3.1, download speeds can get to 10 Gbps, and uploads of up to 2 Gbps. If you are planning on upgrading your router and need higher speeds, or will, definitely go with the 3.1.

- Answer Hey before u buy more products try changing the channel in the router settings in some cases if there are alot of local wifis running the same channel can cause interference. I would change to a higher or lower wifi channel and u should get a stronger signal. If u live in a older home the materials in the walls can interrupt signal as well but can be fixed buy extenders as well as wall amplifiers.they also make a device that makes ur wall outlets into ethernet cable simply by plug in and have had great results using them

- Answer T25 is the telephony cable modem based on DOCSIS 3.1 technology and has 2 telephone jacks. Please note that T25 is compatible to work only with Xfinity's services

- Answer You can power cycle it by disconnecting the power cable, wait 20 seconds, and then connect the power cable to the SBG8300.
