Your ps4 is only capable of up to 60 hz so it doesn't matter which cable you use. The ps4 has an hdmi port so that is probably your best bet, as for PC use, you will need to use either the included DVI and auxiliary cables or a displayport cable to use the full 144hz FHD that this monitor is capale of.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The PS4 and Xbox One both run only at 60Hz or 60 fps. Buying this monitor for strictly console gaming would be a waste of money. Also, if you're using it as a monitor for the computer strictly for browsing the Web and no gaming and such, then this monitor is a waste of money. But, for a rundown, DVI and HDMI only transmit up to 75Hz, not 144Hz (Note that different resolutions change the rate). If you want the full potential of this monitor, you're going to need DisplayPort or Dual-Link DVI-D (Dual link DVI-D comes with the monitor).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Display port is the best. Second best is dvi and then hdmi. VGA is the worst but still looks good on most screens but only will run in 60hz. If you want 144hz use display port or dvi.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.HDMI offers up to 1080p and 60 Hz with sound as well, DVI has two different types are a more analog version of visual cable that offer 1080p (up to 4k I believe) at 144 Hz but depending if it's a basic DVI, DVI-D or DVI-P it may or may not have the audio also processed through the same cable. Display port is probably the future of what we know the HDMI to be, offering up to 4k quality at 144 hz, on board audio processing and with clips and special pins for secure connection. Hands Down I'd say Display Port wins, although can be a pain to find compared to HDMI, they're well worth it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You will only be able to use HDMI. Even with conversion cables or adapters, you will still have a source with the bandwidth of the HDMI connection.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Your best bet is to ask a Best Buy person familiar with gaming. However my son, since he started gaming asks the people he plays with questions about their PC's, etc.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't have a full breakdown of each one, but know that to achieve the 144 hz feature, you must use either DVI or Display Port. 144 hz cannot be achieved using HDMI on this monitor according to their documentation.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. As you know this is a 144 mhz monitor. You can only achieve this speed on PC using either the display port or the Dual DVI port. Console gaming only produces 60 mhz but console games still look great because of the 1 ms response time. I use this monitor with my PS4 and Xbox as well.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There is no visual difference for this monitor between the cords. I would use hdmi because of the sound via the hdmi cable. The only situation where your cord makes a difference is in high resolution monitors i.e. 4k or greater. For 4k you would want a display port cord. Also do not spend a lot of money on a hdmi cord, all hdmi cords have the same performance no matter what.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If I we're to use you PS4, I will choose the Displayport. DisplayPort has higher performance capability, the availability of display adapters for legacy display types, and the ability to connect multiple displays to a single video output. DisplayPort, a newer standard originally developed to support the higher performance requirements of personal computers, is based on updated signal and protocol technology similar to that already used in today’s computer systems, enabling an increase in performance and integration.
