A:AnswerCheck it out for yourself see if you like it and if you don't, just return it during the return period. The reviews I saw were pretty positive check out Dave2Ds review on this laptop on YT (2022 Asus Zephyrus G14 Review - AMD POWER!!). But no matter what laptop you get your going to get negative reviews because no laptop is perfect and everyone has a different opinion, so I think its really based on personal opinion, so see if you like it for yourself if you don't, you can always return it.
A:AnswerThe system ships with 16GB of RAM, but 8GB of RAM is remove-able. You could remove it and replace it with a 32GB stick, for instance, to have a total of 40GB (32GB stick + 8GB soldered)

It Actually Got BETTER - Zephyrus G14 2022 vs G14 2021
Not speaking from experience here, haven't bought one yet, but they do a great job covering that issue in depth.
TLDR answer: Keep Turbo Mode off and you'll be fine!
> should I wait for the better models or is this the best bang for your buck?
I think the 3 models out now are pretty much what you're choosing from, except for the fact that there might be a 4th model that has the AniMe cover display for an extra $500. They could always add more variety with different memory/SSD configurations, but I think the current 3 core models are exemplary of what you're choosing from. So I see no reason to wait.
This 2022 G14 is (relative to the 2021 model) thinner and lighter and slightly taller panel size (due to new 10:6 aspect ratio), and yet it performs nearly as well as the old boat-anchor gaming laptops. Example: a MSI GE76 Raider i9-12900HK 32GB RTX 3080 that weighs 6.4 pounds and sucks in 280 watts, only performs 27% faster on Geekbench 5 (all-cores) than the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 does (note: the Raider does have a 360 Hz panel, but then the G14 doesn't give you a hernia from carrying it around in your backpack).
Best Buy (at 2022 G14 product launch) carries three different "bangs" for three different "bucks" with the difference being the discrete GPU chip: Nvidia 3060 vs. AMD RX6700S (brand new) vs. RX6800S (brand new). The more you buck, the more you bang; and the more you bang, the more you FPS.
Honestly, the rumor is that the RX6800S almost matches a 3080 mobile. Interpolating, one might guess that an RX6700S games almost the same as a 3070 mobile.
Of course, with the Ryzen 6000 series APUs you also get the brand new RDNA 2 internal GPU, and that's at least double the speed of the old-architecture iGPUs from the 5000 series Ryzen APUs.
I'm hoping it's possible to drive the built-in 14" laptop panel from the iGPU while simultaneously driving a separate larger LCD display from the dGPU. Seems reasonable but not sure if the HDMI out comes from the dGPU and/or whether there's a MUX switch.
A:AnswerI have the G402RJ (2022) and am using the Dell WD19TB docking station with 3 external monitors, as well as external speakers. There is some work to be done to get this dock to perform as it should.
Before attempting to use the docking station, I updated the BIOS to 317 and updated all drivers. Using the left-side USB-C, it successfully on 3 external monitors, but for some reason my USB keyboard connected to the dock (Logitech G213) would not work at all, nor would any other USB-A device. Using the right-hand USB-C connection, everything worked except the laptop would not charge.
Just so happens that Asus is beta testing a BIOS update (502) that supposedly enables USB4. I downloaded the BIOS and USB4 'enabling' tool that comes with the BIOS file, and updated everything per their instructions using E-Z Flash. So far, everything has worked without issue. Charging, monitor configuration, sleep, wake from sleep and no more keyboard issues. Note: this only updates the left-hand USB-C port I believe.
A:AnswerYes, it is a fully compliant USB 3.2 port, with PD up to 100W. Potentially getting a firmware update for USB 4 functionality as the board and cpu support the spec but it’s not in the firmware yet.
A:AnswerYes, but weirdly enough, if you're using a type-C or thunderbolt dock you'll want to use the type-C port on the right side of the laptop. Not the left, which is the one with power delivery.
Performance has been excellent on two external monitors using the right-side USB-C port. Running 2x 1440p monitors; one at 165hz and the other at 60hz with no issues. Gaming performance is as expected.
Supposedly, ASUS is working on a BIOS update to activate USB 4 and correct this issue. But for now, you have to either have power delivery or two external displays, but not both.
A:AnswerIt's comparable to an Nvidia 3070 laptop GPU . It's not as powerful but pretty powerful . You will run valorant with over 150 fps on 1080p gaming ,slightly less fps with 1440p gaming. While playing games this will not have long battery life, gaming laptops need power supply for gaming . Gaming without power supply will give you a little over 1 hour, this varies depending on the game . During non gaming tasks it has great battery, you can watch multiple reviews on YouTube. My 2020 version gives me about 6 hours screen on time during non gaming. This will be great for school and gaming.
A:AnswerFirst of all you shouldn’t have to turn it on it’s just a sheet of metal under the lid that reflects light in a certain way where it creates a rainbow. Also, it can be hard to see at times if you don’t look at it at a certain angle it’s impossible to see. Just remember it’s very minimal it’s not very pronounced.
