A:AnswerUnfortunately there is no way to disable the turning of the lock. If you couldn’t turn it by hand, then you might find yourself in a bind if the batteries failed or the app didn’t work.
A:AnswerThe lock uses the app to determine location. If you have your phone in the kitchen and you attempt to go in and out of the door you would need to manually unlock the door and use your existing house key to unlock the smart lock (if you have auto lock enabled)

A:AnswerAfter replacing the batteries, operate your lock 3 times using the August App. This should stop the low-battery alerts until the next time the batteries reach 25% capacity.
PLEASE NOTE: You must operate the lock over Bluetooth or remotely if you have an August Wi-Fi bridge. Operating your lock manually will not stop the low-battery notifications.
A:AnswerYou should be confident a secure to know that if the lock was previously used you can reset the lock and re add the smart lock to your account and only you will be able to operate it and anyone you authorize. The previous owner would need you to authorize them to have any control over the lock.

A:AnswerYes! In fact, the app and Airbnb are compatible. The App will automatically send an email to your guest with temporary access and instructions and link for downloading the app as soon as you receive a booking. You may also do it manually if the guest for some reason has changed their email.
