Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, You can use the Backbone without Backbone+. You don’t even have to download the Backbone app at all. Downloading it lets you update the controller’s firmware and calibrate it which you don’t need the subscription for. All Backbone+ does is gives you access to the game hub through the backbone app and dedicated button on the controller

Please try again later.Yes you can use it without the backbone app but the backbone app gives you one year free to have and use their features but if you don’t care for their features you can use it without the app, all you do is connect your phone and open other mobile apps that support controller and your good to go.
