A:Answer To get the pump to "prime", you have to fill the tank with water, then raise and lower the tank into the base several times, like 20 to 40 times. Each time you seat the water tank into the base, a few air bubbles come up, which means water is going into the pump. You have to forcefully seat the tank down to make bubbles form. Then when no more air bubbles come up, press the double shot cup to pump water into it. It took me 15 minutes to get it running, because the water pump won't work right if there is not enough water in the bottom of the machine. Eventually it works perfectly, and makes GREAT espresso! I use pods and ground espresso, both work fantastic!
