“Does it actually heat up the water? I have a little green machine I just bought last week for the same price. Is this and upgraded version of the little green machine? Does it heat up the water? Does it have more than 1 attachment? From the picture it looks like it does, what is it? Is it special or just a duplicate of the same part?”

No, you add hot water to the clean water solution tank. It doesn't heat up the water its self.

There is a small red exhaust port that discharges heated air from the motor down the fins on the clean water/solution tank. After running for 10 minutes or so the air is hot and the fins on the water tank do protrude inward towards the water similar to a heat sink. This isn’t going to boil water obviously but it will heat it and keep it heated while in use.

Please try again later.I'm not sure what the little green machine is but this does have more than one attachment - it came with two different brush attachments and a third plastic thingy that I am not sure how to use. One of the brushes was more for upholstery cleaning and one more for carpet spot cleaning. I haven't used the upholstery one yet. I am not sure if it heats the water - you have to put hot water in with the formula. Overall I really like it though - I use it for cat-related messes and it works great for that.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would say it helps keep water warm but i don't think it will warm up water. I've only used hot water in it and it stays pretty warm until i have to refill. The 2nd attachment is just a different size depending on the job.

I've used this unit many times and it feels to me like a glorified wet-vac with a solution spray built in. Re-reading the description it claims this vac "utilizes hot water", which I guess means you're allowed to add hot water. It comes with two attachments, one for deep carpet that has a longer brush and sprays solution deeper within the fibers, and one for shallow carpet with a shorter brush and is meant to be sprayed from above.
