A:Answer Steam is not like scrubbing with water & a mop. When I used to use my Scooba floor scrubber, I needed it to vacuum up the water residue(actually the machine did it and returned it to another reservoir that held "dirty" water. I then had to let the floor dry a long time before I could walk on it to replace furniture. When you clean with steam, there's no water left on your floor. It evaporates and dries almost instantly. Think of your steam iron... if you spray water on the clothes you have to iron until it's dry/wrinkles are gone. If you use the steam feature you get it wet and smooth at the same time. You CAN'T pick up steam, it dissipates. If you use a Swiffer Wet Jet, all you do is spread a chemical that dries on your floor and leaves a dirt residue on the disposable pad. Depending on how closely you monitor the dirt on the pad, you may just be pushing dirt from one spot to the other. Real evident if you check the baby's knees/toes of pants/socks after they crawl across the newly scrubbed floor!
