- Answer HI there! Thanks for reaching out! The unit doesn't know that the filter has been changed. Press and hold the button down for a solid 15 seconds the light should blink then go back to normal.

QuestionWhy does this product not come with a carbon filter? All of the other sellers provide a carbon filter for the same price. Even with a 20% discount, when you buy a carbon filter separate, the product still costs more than the other sellers.

- Answer Hi! The filter for the 411 does indeed come with a layer of activated carbon to handle smoke, odors and VOCs.

- Answer No, the filters for the 411, 211+ and the 121 are not HEPA. HEPA is just an acronym for High Efficiency Particulate Absorption and refers to filtering particles from the air via a weave and it generally has a range of 90-98% efficiency as to what it’s taking out of the air. Whereas units in our Classic, Sense and Pro lines do use true HEPA filters 97-98% efficiency, the filters in the Pure Blue line of units are about half as dense and 97% efficient. We’ve done this in order to provide for a compact or beginner version of this line of air purifiers.

- Answer HI there! Thanks for reaching out! All of our units have small Ionizers in them which cannot be turned off.

- Answer Hello Kate, we are sorry for the experience you had. It does seem like the light of the 211+ is not functioning as it should. Please try to hold down the power button firmly for up to 45 seconds to a minute. If the problem persists, we suggest arranging for an exchange from the original BestBuy you've purchased from or contact [email protected] and request for a warranty exchange. We'd be very happy to send you a new one under warranty.

QuestionHave any users noticed a reduction in dust? We have been under renovation for a year and even though our HVAC system is brand new and we change the filters monthly, we continue to have too much dust.

- Answer Generally, drywall dust will destroy air cleaner and vacuum motors. Especially in high moisture conditions. Think plaster cast on your motor. Consider renting a air scrubber from a tool rental center otherwise plan on throwing it out and going through a filter once a week. Also, consider hanging plastic between room door ways and closing off return air vents where you have construction. This is not ideal for long projects due to static pressure but, you don’t want that dust in your ducts.

QuestionWhat accessories go with this? In amazon, I found the same model with Particle + Carbon Filter + Washable Two Fabric Pre Filters. I dont see anywhere on the description that it comes with these. Please confirm before I purchased

- Answer The Blue comes with two washable fabric pre-filters in black & blue colors. There are 3 other colors for purchase. The main filter is the particle filter which needs replacement every 6 months depending on your use. There is no carbon filter with this unit.

- Answer Do not buy Blue Air, it is not filtering the air. It makes a terrible odor in the house. This product is not worth the money! It only filters up to .1 micron, this is not strong enough filtration for the smoke from the fires. I am looking at returning the Blue Air and buy a filtration system that filters up to .003 microns. I have looked at IQAir, this looks much better than the BlueAir

- Answer Ionizers might generate ozone which according to some experts can cause its own set of problems. If I were you, I'd ask your pulmonologist about ionizers and ozone generators.

- Answer Its says does kill most bacterial viruses, along woth germs etc. My kids kept getting sick, i noticed a difference immediately. Not sure about flu, dont think they could guarantee that .

- Answer We bought one because of the Tahoe fire a month ago. AQI was 180 to 250. We also have a dog that sheds a lot. I bought an expensive AQI meter to test the Pure Blue. It brought the AQ down to 50 within a few hours. Tonight my wife was cooking tacos and burned the oil. The AQ went to 400+. I turned the Pure Blue on and within an hour the AQ was back to 50. It sounds like you have a defective unit, I would get a replacement and buy an AQI meter to see what's going on. JC

- Answer As long as you want. After opening mine, I ran it all day on low and switched it to medium at night. I only run it from the time I sleep to when I get out of bed because that’s all I need and I don’t want a high electricity bill.

- Answer The 211+ will probably remove most all of the particulates from wildfire smoke, but you might want to buy one to see if it works for you. From what I can tell, everyone has different kinds of sensitivities to smoke, so your results might vary depending on the strength of the odor. My friend had great results in her house, but I had mixed results with mine. I had fantastic results with the Austin Air Health Mate Jr. It was a game-changer for me.

- Answer Hi! No, Radon has not been tested against our filters. Regarding the activated carbon; the air purifier’s ability to remove VOC and gas pollutants does not depend on the amount of carbon in the filter alone. The type of carbon, the design of the actual filter and most importantly the air purifier’s airflow will greatly affect the performance. In general, the carbon weight does not give an accurate measurement on the air purifier’s ability to remove gases.

- Answer This is not a hepa filter according to the definition of a HEPA filter. The filter eliminates 99% of the particulates instead of the 99.97% of the particulates. Yet, I have a number of the HEPA home air purifiers including the Winix, a Honeywell, etc. This one seems to work better according to my breathing. Their classic line are HEPA filters.
