- Answer If you are intending to use one of our Acoustimass systems with standard speaker wire that has already been run in your house, we do offer a speaker wire adapter kit. This kit includes a wall plate for the bare wires to connect, and then a 7’ cable to connect into your Acoustimass module. If your question is about adding additional speakers to the Acoustimass 10 Series IV, you may add one additional speaker with an adapter. QuestionSony STR-DN840 7.2 Channel 4K receiver will work with bose acoustimass 10 series?I bought bose acoustimass 10 series. Sony STR-DN840 7.2 Channel 4K receiver will work with bose acoustimass 10 series? Can I use Bose 151 Indoor/Outdoor Speaker Pair (White) for my additional speaker to complete my 7.2 channel?

- Answer I bought the acoustimass 10 and the DN 840 and YES they work together. I bought the acoustimass 5 system to complete the 7.2. Although the acoustimass 5 doesnt actually plug into the bass outlet so I can probably buy another sub. I don't think the 151 had the correct ohms or watts to work how it's supposed to. They should work, but they may blow out if you turn the volume too loud one day, or they'll blow easier than a different speaker would

QuestionSpeaker set up. Center speaker for 7.2 receiver with Acoustimass 10 S IVI purchased the Bose Acoustimass 10 series IV and a Sony 1015 Watts STRDH750 receiver, as well as a pair of Bose 161 for the front high surrounds. My question is this: What's the best place to place the center speaker? Is it at the top of the TV (a 60" Samsung Plasma) or a the bottom of the screen? I'm using all the included cube speakers with stands. Two at the sides of the TV (FL,FR) firing to the sides and the Surrounds on the rear to the sides of the main seating Sofa (RR, RL) (also firing to the sides). I placed the 161 surrounds atop the sides of the TV and a bit higher (FHR, FHL) ( about 3 feet higher from the TV top edge and 2 feet from the leading edges). Both directly bolted to the wall. I placed a second subwoofer behind the sofa (Sony) as well, firing to the side. The Bose subwoofer seats to the left of the TV cabinet firing to the front. I bought the table stand for the center cube speaker, but I'm not sure what's the best place to place it to obtain the ideal sound for my surround system. Some plans I see online have the center speaker below the TV and others atop it. What would be best with this system as set up in a 7.2 configuration? Should I buy the wall bracket for the center speaker and set it above the TV on the wall? A note: For those wanting a 7.2 setup with the Acoustimass 10 series IV do what I did and get the 161 Bose surround speakers. They are a great match for this type of setup. You can use them either on the added rear back surrounds or as front high surrounds. I went with the front high surrounds as the cube speakers from Bose allow you to fire in two different directions from the same spot and thus negating the need for more speakers on the rear. The front high surrounds are great for sounds coming from above and feel realistic when sound flies above your head.

- Answer Hi Ray, As long as your speakers are mounted at ear-height or above while listening, the exact height is not actually a big factor in sound quality with these speakers. The center channel will perform equally well below or above the TV as long as this one height-requirement is met. Hope this helps!

- Answer The speaker wire included with our Acoustimass 10 Series IV speaker system is standard 18 gauge wire, which should be suitable for most installations. If you plan on running your wiring inside of a wall, please note that our speaker wires are not approved for in wall use. Thanks!

- Answer Acoustimass 10 Series IV systems sold in the US are rated at 100-127 Volts, 50/60 Hz. A 220 volt variant would only be sold in a 220 volt region. To use a US variant of an Acoustimass 10 IV system in a 220 volt region, you would need a step-down transformer which supports at least 270 Watts. Thank you for your question.

QuestionCan I connect additional speakers to an Acousticmass 10 that's connected to an Onkyo Receiver 7.2I have an Acousticmass 10 which is 5.1 and have it connected to an Onkyo receiver which handles 7.2 surround. The question is, Can I plug 2 additional Bose speakers that I already have (same as the ones that come with the Acousticmass 10) to convert my 5.1 into a 7.1 surround system? if so, should these 2 additional speakers be connected directly to the receiver? How does this work? Thanks in advance for your help!!

- Answer Thanks for your question. The Direct/Reflecting cube speakers included with the Acoustimass 10 system are designed to connect to the outputs of the Acoustimass bass module (and not directly to a receiver/amplifier). The reason for this is that they are not full range speakers and the impedance would not properly match, which could cause damage. You can, however, connect additional full range speakers directly to the receiver for more channels of audio. A few examples of full range speakers would be the Bose 161, 201 or 301 speakers. We hope this helps.

- Answer You can certainly use an Acoustimass 10 Series IV along with in-ceiling speakers to complete a 7.1 setup. The cube speakers will need to be connected to the outputs of the bass module speaker, and the bass module connects to the receiver. - Answer "The single RCA connector at that end is for use ONLY with a receiver that handles low-frequency effects and provides an LFE/SUBWOOFER jack." This is from BOSE owner's guide. For the Yamaha RX-V673 receiver do a Google search for Yamaha RX-V673 receiver manual.

- Answer Wires are wires. The 16 gauge wires are of adequate capacity. Maintaining polarity consistently from each speaker is very important and may be a bit challenging. It is important that each speaker be connected to its position identified input on the Acoustimass module. This should be accomplished while using the Owner's Guide. The whole procedure is probably best suited for someone experienced in wiring high fildelity systems. It is very important that no speakers are wired directly to your audio receiver.
