QuestionCan you use glossy paper with this printer? I need to print some brochures occasionally & they need to be on glossy paper.

- Answer The Brother HLL8360CDWT supports up to 43 lb. bond paper. Some glossy papers that are 80 lb. may be "TAG" Transformation Paper Type, which is equivalent to 35 lb. bond paper. Glossy paper should be printed from the Manual Feed Slot with the back cover open. Printing glossy paper with the back cover closed can cause damage to your machine as well as print quality issues such as smudges, toner rubbing off, etc. Only print in duplex if glossy paper is between 16 - 28 lb.

QuestionDoes the printer automatically detect whether it’s legal or letter & print from the appropriate drawer? If not can you recommend one that does?

- Answer I use Apple computers, and all of my applications automatically select the correct paper size. You do still need to indicate whether you want double-sided printing, and whether to "flip" the page on the long or short edge. Mac lets you save these choices as drop-down options once you have made the adjustments to the print options. [I do not know whether any of this answer applies if you are using Windows]

Question1- Can it print 8.5x14? Will the tray close when loaded with legal or stay open like w hp printers? 2 - can it auto select size when printing pdf? I know it prints pdf's but can it switch to the correct size when sizes are mixed? some letter some legal

- Answer The HL-L8360CDWT will print on 8.5 x 14 paper using the multipurpose tray. If different size paper is configured on the control panel for the paper trays, the machine will automatically print from the appropriate paper tray if Auto Select is set as the Paper Source in the printer driver. Auto Select is the default setting.

- Answer No, the Brother HL-L8360CDWT can load up to 10 envelopes in the Multi-Purpose tray. Loading more than 10 envelopes may cause paper jams.

QuestionTwo previous Brother printers have forced replacement of all four cartridges when one runs out of toner. If black is empty, replace. But then, “Replace cyan”. Replace “yellow”, etc, until all are replaced. Will this happen again?

- Answer Yes, If "Replace Toner" appears on your machine's display, the toner cartridge indicated on the display has reached the end of its life and a new toner cartridge will need to be installed.
