• I HAVEN'T HAD TO DO A CLEANING AS YET. I REMEMBER UNDER GENERAL SET UP PRESS MAINTENANCE, OK USE THE UP & DOWN ARROW AND SELECT CLEANING, OK PRESS THE UP AND DOWN ARROW TO SELECT THE BLACK OR COLOR INK OR BOTH, OK

• Your Brother MFC-J497DW machine will perform maintenance purges of the print head at regular intervals. The cleaning is to ensure consistent print quality and prevent damage to the print head.
