QuestionWhich is the best camera as a starter DSLR?I'm looking into getting my first DSLR, is this a good start? I know someone who owns a Nikon, it takes amazing pictures but I know theirs is a little more advanced. Any input would be appreciated!

- Answer I highly recommend the T5 as a first DSLR camera. The price doesn't kill you, it is user friendly, and takes great pictures! My wife, and my mother, both have the T5, we all 3 recommend them. Consider getting the 58 mm UV filter with it, it cuts down on haze, and protects your lens.

QuestionHow well does this work indoors and with portait photography indoors/outdoors?Im a portrait photographer looking for an affordable upgrade. My current camera is not an slr and does not work well indoors. Also its limited on settings so Im curious as to how well this one does.

- Answer This camera is great in all situations. A really nice upgrade to an DSLR. Fast focus with 9 focus areas and numerous settings. Love mine!

Questionis this a good camera to shoot sports with?i currently use a point and shoot but would love to get back into using an SLR. but not sure which one to get. i take a lot of basketball pictures and a lot when we go hiking so it will have to be good for that too.

- Answer Unfortunately no as there is no Wi-Fi option on this particular camera. You do have two ways in which to upload the photos. 1) Take the SD card out and input it into our computer and copytransfer photos that way. OR 2) Use the included usb cable to hook the camera up directly to the computer and transfer photos that way. Hope this helps!

- Answer Yes, the EF mount lens will work with this camera. There are mount guides for both EF and EF-S, red dot and white square, respectively.

- Answer Yes, there is a view finder. The battery is the standard Canon battery and does not use AA. To save "juice" while taking photos, turn off the preview mode after every shot and only use the back screen when necessary. If you fully charge the battery before you use it though, you should be able to make it all day without issue (but always pack a spare for that last awesome shot just in case.)

- Answer Yes, but it depends on your settings. The manual that this camera comes with can show you how to do this. But there are also great lenses that canon makes that are spectacular in making a bokeh effect.

- Answer it is a good camera but you need to know how to use it ...and get a 50 mm prime lens for it ...you wont regret it ...join a local photography group also .and study your camera on you tube every chance you get !

- Answer I have found that the Canon Rebel T5 takes very good shots of flowers. I use the 75-300 telephoto and come away from the flower so the lens can focus on the flower. With the flower in focus, you can crop the picture to what you want and go from there. I would also try using a polarizing filter to enhance the colors of the different parts of the flower. You can also attach a macro lens to the camera to stay upclose and personal and use a flash if it's a windy day to stop the motion.

- Answer Unfortunately the t5 does not have WiFi. The t5i does have WiFi and an android/ios app to link up and tranfer. To get the pics/videos from your t5 to phone/tablet you would have to plug the camera into your pc and then transfer from pc to iPad or other devices. Hope this helps.
