In my experience the keyboard won't work right at all unless you uninstall the old, and re-install the new software that just was released recently. The process is pretty involved too, as you have to follow specific instructions to manually remove certain files left over after the initial uninstall. In addition, the lighting software has no built in help feature or directions and is very difficult to use.
