• Yes, it has a locking lid. I haven’t traveled with it but it looks sturdy.

• It has a locking top for when it's in the crock. We use it to take out of the house.

• Most definitely, but I would cover in plastic wrap for the crock and lid when carrying so that is available to protect the lid in case it is put in an oven or microwave if the need to reheat arises.
