After a ton of research on the Cyber Power website and side by side comparison, here are the answers to your question: CP1500PFCLCD has the option of remote/auto shut down of your devices by buying and installing the RMCARD205 hardware to the UPS. This allows you to control or set up for auto shutdown of your devices. Go take a look at the pictures of the back of both UPS devices. The specs also state that the CP1500PFCLCD has SNMP communication but the GX1500u does not. Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) is an Internet Standard protocol for collecting and organizing information about managed devices on IP networks and for modifying that information to change device behavior. The CP1500PFCLCD as a clear obvious spot to install the RMCARD205, whereas the GX1500u does not. The product descriptions on Cyber Powers website clearly state that BTOH are PFC Pure Sine. I know it gets confusing when you actually search for True Sine UPS PFC and only the CP and OR models show up. However, as I do side by side-word for word comparison of the models, they both clearly state that they are AVR PFC True Sine UPS's. You are paying extra for remote access/auto controls. Also, the GX1500u only uses 1 type of model for battery replacement, whereas, the CP1500PFCLCD has 2 options for different model numbers. Again, they are both True Sine PFC AVR UPS's.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The above answer was incorrect, the gx1500u is not in the same class, as the pfc model's. Nor is it a newer version of the PFC model. After an hour of research the PFC in the cyber power model numbers give an added feature of... See below per their website Active PFC power source compatibility. They provide sine wave output and correct minor power fluctuations without switching to battery, thereby extending battery life. Without switching to power , so for sensitive equipment, i would spend the 10 dollars extra and special order it from amazon. Its amazing that best buy would choose to sell the Gx model over the PFC model for all the pcs they sell. The other thing is that depending on the PFC1500 model you purchase the manual says certain serial numbers may take a different battery model, newer ones different. No big issue, but there are older versions with the same specs. Cyber power sells both types. So long story short of your paying 199 for the gx ..why not spend 209 on the pfc model and just get a better unit. I mean the MSRP for the PFC model is 250, and the gx is 200. That tells you everything.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Some misinformation in other answers. The CP1500PFCLCD and GX1500U are essentially the same unit with two differences: 1) CP1500PFCLCD has SNMP capability 2) Capacity: CP1500PFCLCD is 1000W vs. GX1500U 900W Here are the Cyberpower links: https://www.cyberpowersystems.com/product/ups/battery-backup/gx1500u/ https://www.cyberpowersystems.com/product/ups/pfc-sinewave/cp1500pfclcd/
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There is too much confusion on this topic, so I dug into user manuals and then emailed Cyberpower to confirm findings. Here are the differences between GX1500U and CP1500PFCLCD: - GX1500U has a power factor of 0.6 instead of 0.7, which yields a maximum load of 900W vs 1000W - GX1500U does not have the slot for the SNMP remote management card that costs 300$ - GX1500U cannot use PowerPanel Business software, only PowerPanel Personal That's it. All other features (PFC power supply compatibility, true sine wave, AVR) are present in both units.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. My GX1325U has its model name detected as CP1350PFCLCD in the PowerPanel Personal software from CyberPower. It's very possible that they are the same model just branded differently.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This Best Buy unit has the Cyberpower model nomenclature CP1500AVRLCD which does NOT feature Pure Sine Wave technology (PFC) but a virtual form that comes close with their Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR). Today this model MFRP at the Cyberpower website is $204.95 while the new model of virtually the same device, CP1500PFCLCD MFRP is $249.95. PFC Pure Sine Wave technology is a new and increasingly important more pure and stable energy source for devices that require it. The newer Pure Sine Wave UPS Cyberpower model CP1500PFCLCD is the one that I bought because of this difference. An electrical engineer explained that Pure Sine Wave or PFC technology matters when a power outage last for more than just a few minutes. Perhaps you are working and cannot immediately shut down your system, and depend on the UPS to maintain power for a half hour or nearly an hour, in an extended power outage situation. This is when the PFC prevents damage to the sensitive new technology devices because its energy flow and sine wave are "pure" in flow and amplitude. Just a couple of years ago, this did not matter because devices were not nearly so sensitive to very minor power fluctuation. Bottom line, if you are powering older technology devices that are fairly bullet proof with power supply, then the CP1500AVRLCD works fine. But, you need to get a Price Match for the lower retail price of $204.95. However, I would opt for the CP1500PFCLCD, which also has an expanded ethernet option, for today's discounted prices at most retail outlets of $219.95. For $15 dollars you get more bang for the buck.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This model is basically the new version of the CP1500PFCLCD. The specs while similar are not identical. The older version is 1000 watts while this one is 900 watts. There are other differences as well. Here are the web pages at Cyberpowers site where you can compare them yourself.
