The Geek Squad does offer a data transfer service. I think if someone told you no, it may be due to the type of data you are trying to transfer. It may be an older file type that will not be recognized by a new device, or your new device may not contain software to open the files. Also your drives may not be compatible. External hard drives have dropped in price so you may be able to pick one up for relatively inexpensive, and transfer the data by dragging and dropping yourself. There are many factors that could be involved as to why it may not be possible. However, with software and cloud storage you may be able to convert said files and store them on a cloud storage service online. I encourage you to do you own research online to find techniques to save what you are trying to save from old pc if there is any.
