A:Answer Yes! Both!
The coffee side has a setting where you can make a strong cup of coffee; it uses a cone-shaped filter so yeah, you can sure make strong coffee. The big problem is that it needs its carafe to brew, so you can't brew it right into a cup.
The espresso side makes real pressed pressure-brewed espresso, and it can dispense 1 or 2 cups at a time. It also has a real steamer nozzle on it, you just need to have the right sized foaming pitcher because the foaming arm isn't terribly long. But it is totally effective and it makes for-real lattes, espressos, etc.
The coffee side and the espresso side are totally separated. They have a different water tank, power buttons, and everything.
