A:AnswerHello, The AVR-X1700H has a pre-out for Zone 2, but not a pre-out for a 7 channel external amplifier. For a 7 channel external power amplifier, the AVR-X3800H is the model to consider, as it has the necessary pre-outs.
A:AnswerThe Denon AVR-X1700H can blend into a Sonos Echo system by adding a Sonos Port to the receiver. Passive speakers are required to connect to the receiver. The Sonos Bean cannot be directly connected to the receiver.
A:AnswerHello, the Zone two pre-outputs are provided so that a 5.2.2 or 7.2 system can be used with zone two by adding an additional two-channel amplifier. The zone two pre-outputs cannot be used as front LT and RT pre-outputs. For front LT and RT pre-outputs, look to the Denon AVR-X3800H.
A:AnswerHi Stacy,
Yes - Speaker A+B can be selected. With Speaker A+B selected, you would have five speakers in the surround set-up, as the 6th and 7th speakers would be assigned as the front B speakers.
Here is a link with how this is done:

A:AnswerUse a 4k(ARC) HDMI cable from the Denon video out port to the LG "ARC" port which is usually HDMI 2 (it should be labeled ARC). In the LG audio set up select wired speakers HDMI (arc). On the Denon setup you have to go video settings....how stupid is that, and make a similar setting. There are good youtube videos on the Denon setup (not made by Denon). Neither manual for the LG or Denon are helpful.
A:AnswerZone 2 feeds default to straight stereo, allowing Zone 2 to effectively always operate in direct mode from sources which contain straight stereo content.
Pure Direct Mode isn't especially Zone 2-friendly, because when the selected source is carrying (for example) a surround sound encoding, lots of information will be missing from the two speaker feed in Zone 2.
