It won't. It is an effective air mover, but it will not add a chill to the existing air.

No the air is not as cool as a air conditioner style. It’s just a fan with a fan speed, and a bit of climate control but really it doesn’t cool the room as I could of hoped for, it would require some ac to help the air come out cooler from the fan itself. Me myself I use a Lasko fan to help the air circulate faster and cooler while the purifier does its job of keeping the air clean. It kinda defeated the purpose of cool air since other fans have a higher output. Am honestly disappointed on dyson on the fan itself.

Do not buy i spent over $350 on one and it didnt do anything but worked like a fan that I could have got from the dollar store, best thing to do is get a air conditioner.

Hello Casey, this is Kelly with Dyson. Our Purifiers & fans do not have Freon, so they are not an air conditioner, but it does work better than standard fans. Dyson fans use Air Multiplier technology to create a powerful stream of uninterrupted airflow. Air is accelerated through an annular aperture, creating a high-velocity jet of air. This passes over an air foil-shaped ramp, channeling its direction and creating areas of low pressure behind and around the fan. The change in pressure forces surrounding air to be drawn into the airflow, resulting in a powerful stream of smooth cooling air. Hi Casey, great question. No it really doesn’t replace an AC unit. It’s just a very fancy fan that blows cold air, hehe. It will cool a room down and circulate the air flow but it won’t keep you nice and chilled on those hot summer days. Best thing about this unit is the power it delivers in cleaning the air. The fan is just a bonus. Now if you are looking at the HP04 that is the addition of a heater built in, that’s really nice for cold days.

I’m confused myself very pricy but it’s meant to purify, humidify and cool ( not aircon).
To be honest with you, it does picked up VOC but it doesn’t purify the air, for that reason even I love dyson, I won’t recommend it. 
I’ll have mine for return.

The simple answer is that any device consuming electricity in a room will have a net effect of elevating room temperature. This is true for a light bulb, a fan, a refrigerator, or a fancy Dyson "pure cool" tower. If it is "burning" electricity, it is heating. Simple physics. To cool a room, there must be a heat exchange whereby warm air is removed to the outside.

I have one of these and can honestly say during the recent hot weather, my living room has been really cool using this fan. The air is really cool that comes from it. I absolutely love this fan. It is the best one I have ever had

Interesting, I was confused when I first saw this product a few years back. We had to live in rented accommodation for two years and the main bedroom got the afternoon sun. In desperation, in a very hot summer I ventured out to purchase a cooling fan. The only one left in the store was a display Dyson cooling fan. As a few people were discussing this fan in store I decided I would buy it before the last one sold. 
I was surprised how well it performed to in a medium size room. I suggest you ask for a inshore  demonstration before purchasing to experience the air flow through it.

No its does not. Dyson marketing should be more clear and try not to trick consumer. They should not call it "cool" and just call it a fan... Or just make revolutionary product that can actually replace current clunky window AC design. Dyson is company that can probably pull this off....

It does not cool a room, but it will cool you because of the physics principle "evaporation of a liquid causes cooling." This is because heat from the liquid is used to energize the molecules of water and give them enough energy to escape as vapor. In this case the moisture on your skin evaporates and keeps you cool. To cause more cooling you can increase the amount of water that can evaporate, and your body does this automatically by sweating more, or you can increase the evaporation rate by making the air drier or increasing the flow of air moving over the skin, and a fan does this quite nicely. If you put a wet towel in front of the fan it will cool down and eventually cool the room a bit, PROVIDED the air loaded with the evaporated water—i.e. high humidity air—
leaves the room, because if it remains there it reduces the amount of evaporation that can occur; also, later when the temperature drops, the vapor will condense on cooler surfaces and the heat that was absorbed during evaporation will be released and the air will feel warmer than the exterior air.

BTW, the product naming protocol that Dyson uses (which they really need to explain on the box to avoid annoyed customers):
PURE = there is a filter
HOT = the air feels hot
COOL = the air feels cool

No it is not an air conditioner it has no ability to cool whatsoever yet it suggests in its misleading advertising it does and yet costs about the more than an air conditioner that does cool the air ,I know in particular of one very well known TV personality who stars in a well known channel 4 British Tv show ,who is the owner of an air conditioning company who is absolutely fuming about DYSONS claims and has made a YOUTUBE video 
Explaining the myths around them and asking them to prove there claim which so far they haven't simply because they can't as there device does not contain the components which allow it to lower the room temperature ,yes it can heat a room but so can a £10 fan heater and blow air around but so can a £15 fan but we're talking £400 ,for which you can get a genuine air conditioner and have £100 change

It does not additionally cool the air in addition to movement of air. It is a fan. However, it does a very nice job or moving air and warming air.
