- Answer Hi Edmond, this is Kelly with Dyson. Cost can certainly vary according to the standard unit price by market. That said, I can confirm Dyson heater fans use up to 1500 watts when used in the heating mode. This will vary based on the airflow setting, as well as the features that are being run. QuestionWhat are the heat settings on the HP04? Can you set it to 70, 75 or 80 degrees etc? also is there a thermostat feature?

- Answer Hi Eddie, this is Kelly with Dyson. When you power on the Dyson HP04 and use this unit in heat mode, you'll see the room temperature on the front display. - Answer Check the Dyson site. If it’s not available for shipping it’s because the HP04 has been replaced by HP06—offering it’s own new colors and features. The price of this unit use to be around $750-800. On sale means it’s being replaced and stock is fading.

- Answer Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. Dyson air purifiers, including the HP04 Pure Hot + Cool automatically remove 99.97% of allergens and pollutants as small as 0.3 microns. With regard to actually cooling the air, our Purifiers & fans do not have Freon, so they are not an air conditioner, but it does work better than standard fans. Dyson fans use Air Multiplier technology to create a powerful stream of uninterrupted airflow. Air is accelerated through an annular aperture, creating a high-velocity jet of air. This passes over an air foil-shaped ramp, channeling its direction and creating areas of low pressure behind and around the fan. With all products, you'll want to ensure it's protected from the elements, no rain or water. QuestionDo you have to replace the filters on the HPO6 as often as the HP04?

- Answer Hello GG, this is Kelly with Dyson. The Dyson HP04 Pure Hot + Cool's filter will have a lifespan of 4382 hours. It you were going to run your machine 12 hours every single day, you would have a year of life from the filter. With the HP06, which is our Cryptomic™ model, it's a bit difference. The Cryptomic technology has an added panel that breaks down formaldehyde into CO2 and H2O and never needs replacing, since it’s built into the machine. The Hepa filter is separate from the Cryptomic technology, we recommend replacing the filter every 12 months if the purifier is used an average of 24 hours a day. If you use it an average 12 hours or less a day, replacement is recommended every 18 months. It's not washable as that would damage the integrity of the filter and how it works to remove allergens and harmful particles from the Air. Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support

- Answer Hello there, this is Kelly with Dyson. Dyson purifiers will trap pet dander, but they will not trap pet hair. The HP04 features a 2-piece filter; the sealed HEPA and the activated carbon filters. The HP04 is a connected machine, and you can connect to the Dyson Link App via both WiFi and Bluetooth. - Answer It uses 1500 watts at 12.5 amps full capacity. You’d have to dig into calculating more values or measuring the draw for such specific values. One can assume that fractionally across ten speed settings. You could go from there (half power would be 750 Watts and 6.25 amps). You’d be far better off running on another type of generator. Natural gas or propane heater. If you are trying to run off battery power or a “generator”. I think you mean inverter. But I could be wrong.

QuestionDoes it get rid of humidity in a room? There are times i wake up in the middle of the night and feel like the air is not circulating.. will this fix that problem? I don't mind investing in a machine like this as long as it fixes my issues.

While the machine does monitor the humidity in the room, it's usage is to cleanse the air of 99.9% impurities while it's on and circulating the air, so it'll filter cleaner air than what comes in the machine. QuestionHi, if comparing the AM09 with the HP04, which would have the lowest running costs? I want to buy one to use as a room heater. Because it is purifying the air, would the HP04 be running for longer and use more energy and therefore cost more to run?

- Answer Hello Sirius, this is Kelly with Dyson. Both Dyson AM09 and HP04 Pure Hot + Cool operate at 1500 watts in the highest heating mode, so in terms of which would be more cost effective, both would essentially be the same. The HP04 purifies the air in cool or heat mode; the machine is always purifying, when the machine is turned on, and that function doesn't consume more power. As air is drawn in through the bottom of the unit, it's purified as it passes through the filter, and that purified air is expelled through the amplifier loop when the machine is on.
