I purchased the V15 Detect from BestBuy, and after research tonight I found that the standard V15 Detect sold at BestBuy and others does not have the HEPA filtration. On Dyson's website they have two models, the V15 Detect and the V15 Detect+ (notice the "+") the "+" model does have HEPA and has a light blue end cap instead of purple which is on the standard V15 Detect. I was disappointed to find that the normal V15 Detect that I purchased was not HEPA, shame on Dyson at this price point. I might return and buy direct from Dyson as they note on their site "Only available direct from Dyson. An upgraded HEPA post-motor filter delivers our most advanced whole-machine filtration in a cordless vacuum."
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You are accurate. I looked into it myself and Dyson website shows V15 Detect Absolute as the one with HEPA filter while the regular variants do not have the HEPA filtration. There is no such thing as Dyson V15 Detect+ though.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It’s disappointing to see the non-HEPA version here being sold at the same price as the HEPA one on Dyson’s site. If only Dyson had a longer warranty, I would buy directly from them.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. They are actually both HEPA filters. The standard purple filter traps 99.9% up to 0.3 micron including dust mites, mold, pollen. The blue filter traps up to 99.97% up to 0.1 micron including pet dander and diesel soot. Even though they are both considered HEPA filters Dyson calls the blue a HEPA filter on their website to make the distinction. My question is does the finer blue filter restrict air flow more than the purple filter cutting the V15 Detect's cleaning efficiency?
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The $699 price is a pretty big difference from $917 for the V15+ model. Just a HEPA filter difference? btw Dyson; instead of a big gigantic + sign noting the difference why not use a space or two and then a little period or asterisk; like this; V15 . ?
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. The V15 Detect features advanced, whole-machine filtration. If the item number is different in-store than on the Dyson website, it could be a variant model or a store-exclusive model that would not necessarily be available directly from Dyson. However, run times, performance and suction would all remain the same. Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support
