I am finding the carpet head on my Dyson a bit too harsh on our antique rugs. I can recommend the soft roller head which seems to pick up a lot of the dust but is not chewing the ancient fibres.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Switching heads is extremely easy. However, the soft roller works well on most of my area rugs unless they're heavily soiled. My rugs are very low pile; if your carpets are plushy or shaggy I would switch to the carpet head.

While the soft roller would work on some area rugs, we do recommend easily switching to the direct drive head for use on rugs and carpet. Best Wishes, Krystal Dyson Customer Service
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes you can use the soft roller on area rugs, and it does a very good job. Even if you need to change the roller, it is just a snap of a button that takes less than 5 seconds.
