No app is required to use the bike. You can just hop on and pedal if you like, including adjusting resistance. (Bike has to be plugged in for magnetic resistance, I think.) My wife and I each use our Ex3 without the manufacturer's app. She uses the Peloton app while I'm experimenting with Apple Fitness and streaming scenic rides. Without paying, you can still download the manufacturer's app and connect to the bike via built-in bluetooth in order to get your performance stats (MPH, RPMs, etc.) reported thru the app.I 'm happier just tracking the important stuff like calories burned thru my fitness watch (Apple Watch for me.)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I use Freestyle. If you want a number for resistance, you have to be connected to the internet before you can bluetooth connect to the bike. MY GRIPE. In a store I can inrease resistance without the app by turning the knob. It will reset without use. Not like the mechanical screw on other bikes
