Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, you do not need to plug the WiFi extender into your router. This is the WiFi version. I plugged my extender 150 feet away from my router into an outlet for additional coverage for my TV in the Lanai and Family room. Now I have whole home coverage, great upgrade from previous router.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is an extender eero. It is designed to wirelessly connect to an eero network and broadcast the same network in its vicinity, giving you a closer access point to connect your devices to. You will need an eero hardwired to your existing modem/internet connection to create this eero network for this eero to connect to.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You just add the extender to the rest of the Eeros devices you are using, through the app. So you need an Eeros hub to make this work. This is just an additional extender to put in rooms that have poor service. Set up is really easy.
